There is a story that seems to report that in 1145 CE, the Image of Edessa was in hiding at Cosmas Monastery in Edessa. In that year, it was stolen and thrown into a well, before being recovered and returned to the monastery.[1] The report of being thrown into a well has similarities to Palmer's account. The suggestion that the image was in hiding is unique AFAIK. Daask (talk) 15:57, 24 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
