Rogers Pass

I have searched high and low for more info on the pass but seem to have come up with little. I guess it can be expanded some and maybe make it to DYK. I appreciate your additions there. Feel free to copy edit my section by section updates of Yellowstone National Park as well...as you do a better job fixing my grammatical errors than almost anyone else...not that you're my secretary or anything! So far, I have gotten the history, geography and geology sections updated. The last paragraph of the geology section was terribly misleading, so I have hopefully made that more neutral.--MONGO 05:21, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the help...looks like it was interesting enough...[1].--MONGO 10:48, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

That is splendid. I did little, but thanks. Congratulations! Walter Siegmund (talk) 13:02, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Wikiproject Birds

I notice you've made significant contributions in the area of birds, so this is just a note to let you know that I have started a wiki-project birds :-) (Sorry, that's on commons, and I've followed a link to here on wikipedia, hope that's not confusing :-) --Tony Wills 23:11, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the invitation. Walter Siegmund (talk) 04:04, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

World Heritage template

Hi! I created a template for World Heritage Sites: {{Infobox World Heritage Site}}. Since many of the protected areas are also recognized as World Heritage Sites, I thought that it will be appropriate to forward this template here, and hopefully, for the community to help improve the template. Someone mentioned that the footnotes are unclear (i.e. why the need to emphasize "official" there). It's because the official name (or the name as inscribed on the List) is different from what we usually know. And the Region also has footnote to tackle specifically the classification of those regions which may fall ambiguously between two continents (e.g. those in Russia, Turkey, Cyprus, etc.). In addition, I think that the info provided in the template is much like a jargon for most readers since it box is more of use for internal references in the World Heritage program. I hope that the community will help improve the template and make it more relevant to the readers of wikipedia in general. Thanks. Joey80 13:45, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi!

I'm not sure if you remember me, but I saw you pop up on my watchlist, looked through your contributions and was amazed with the amount of stuff you keep on contributing to Wikipedia. Your userpage is still a joy to look at, I love those pictures! Kind regards, JoanneB 19:56, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi, JoanneB, what a pleasure to hear from you! Thank you for the kind words. You made my day. It looks like you've been occupied with admin work on WP. You have my gratitude! Best wishes, Walter Siegmund (talk) 20:26, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

NPA

Can you please clarify that I was not the person who made personal attacks on Talk:The Great Global Warming Swindle? The way you made the edits makes it appear like you deleted material from my comments. (And at least one of the comments you deleted was not a personal attack, either.) -- THF 20:18, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

I see what you mean. My notes appear immediately after your comments in two places. While I think the spacing and indentation would not lead most readers to assume that I deleted portions of your comments, I would welcome the suggestion of a way to make this more clear. I could add a link to the diff, I suppose.
All three items discussed a specific editor by name. They did not discuss the article content and were not helpful in my judgement. I'd be happy to use words to that effect, if you think that would be an improvement. Walter Siegmund (talk) 20:43, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Nice wording

See, I can't write like that!...it is more enjoyable to read and helps capture the reader's interest better. My writing consists of splicing facts and figures together. I really need to work on my prose.--MONGO 05:52, 11 April 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for the kind words. I'm pleased that you noticed. You wouldn't be so impressed, though, if I told you how long I sweated over it. May I say that I'm equally impressed by your ability of gather facts and figures. Walter Siegmund (talk) 06:19, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks...The commons links to the image galleries on Yellowstone are a bit a shambles...I just found another entire page with images of the park there and added one very nice winter scene image to the Yellowstone article. I think I have found three different webpages there, not well linked together that have different pictures...probably from various different language wikis as they set up new pages.--MONGO 06:52, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
