Hello @Highwatermark1, I reverted your edits because they did not appear to be constructive. The wording you used was not conventional, and you did not contribute any information to the article. TheManInTheBlackHat (talk) 18:45, 23 November 2022 (UTC)

You are incorrect. What do you question? Be specific.Highwatermark1 (talk) 18:46, 23 November 2022 (UTC) I noticed your edits have been reverted occasionally in the past. Why do you think that happened?Highwatermark1 (talk) 18:51, 23 November 2022 (UTC)

Bodosa Academy,Bijni

While in most cases such near-empty articles like Bodosa Academy,Bijni indeed never become anything useful, we should not tag them for A1 (empty) deletion right after they have been created, but should give the creator some time to expand it first. This is put explicitly in WP:A1 instructions as well: "Do not tag under this criterion in the first few minutes after a new article is created." Waiting 15 minutes or so is usually considered a minimum. Fram (talk) 16:55, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

Apologies, I'll keep this in mind for the future. TheManInTheBlackHat (talk) 19:10, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

Hello 103.241.226.179, which edit was reverted? I reverted edits that contained copied and pasted content from a blog., none of my edits were reverted from I've seen. It also looks like you just copied and pasted my comments from DSP2092's page. TheManInTheBlackHat (talk) 13:58, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

Rohypnol as Date rape Drug

I removed the source from this article because it is misleading. I reviewed the source, (#30), and while the source is legitimately based on research, it was incorrectly used to support this definition. It is so massively incorrect, in fact, that in order to have the correct documentation of the facts, it will take some time. Statements that call date rape drugs, "aphrodisiacs" and that roofies only constitute 1% of sexual assaults is not only entirely inaccurate, but can promote further crimes. 64.113.167.221 (talk) 22:27, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

Thank you for your explanation, for the future, please leave an edit summary explaining why you made the edit. I'll undo my revert. TheManInTheBlackHat (talk) 22:29, 2 December 2022 (UTC)

Next time check the text being removed instead of just reverting.

If you had looked at the edit you reverted, youd have seen that I was reverting a nationalistic edit made by an editor who has been brought to ANI.

71.233.63.157 (talk) 21:34, 14 December 2022 (UTC)

I always review edits and their content before reverting. Can you provide context to the situation? From my perspective, it seemed like an IP editor was reverting a series of edits for no given reason (your edit summaries had little to no context). TheManInTheBlackHat (Talk) 21:36, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
Restore Trust: The actual entry as written before is inaccurate. Restore Trust had nothing to do with motions to the 2022 AGM on Rewilding and Pride. This was wrongly reported in Telegraph and Guardian but both subsequently printed corrections. See correction at bottom of this Guardian report: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2022/oct/31/national-trust-set-for-fresh-battle-over-culture-wars
Also see correction at end on this Telegraph report: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/environment/2022/09/07/national-trust-fears-many-volunteers-wont-come-back-numbers/
Also the use of "seeks top take over control" is not neutral. Restore Trust put up candidates for election - even if all seven had won, they would only have been a minority. The Council has 37 members - and does not have Executive power in any case 195.162.12.14 (talk) 16:31, 15 December 2022 (UTC 195.162.12.14 (talk) 16:33, 15 December 2022 (UTC)

OrphanReferenceFixer: Help on reversion

Hi there! I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. Recently, you reverted my fix to Kamal Haasan.

If you did this because the references should be removed from the article, you have misunderstood the situation. Most likely, the article originally contained both <ref name="foo">...</ref> and one or more <ref name="foo"/> referring to it. Someone then removed the <ref name="foo">...</ref> but left the <ref name="foo"/>, which results in a big red error in the article. I replaced one of the remaining <ref name="foo"/> with a copy of the <ref name="foo">...</ref>; I did not re-insert the reference to where it was deleted, I just replaced one of the remaining instances. What you need to do to fix it is to make sure you remove all instances of the named reference so as to not leave any big red error.

If you reverted because I made an actual mistake, please be sure to also correct any reference errors in the page so I won't come back and make the same mistake again. Also, please post an error report at User talk:AnomieBOT so my operator can fix me! If the error is so urgent that I need to be stopped, also post a message at User:AnomieBOT/shutoff/OrphanReferenceFixer. Thanks! AnomieBOT 13:35, 17 December 2022 (UTC) If you do not wish to receive this message in the future, add {{bots|optout=AnomieBOT-OrphanReferenceFixer}} to your talk page.

Hello, I'm me, transparently using my real name.

You wrote on my user page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Geertacke (*) I kindly request to know exactly what part in my addition needs a 'reliable source' and also why that needs a reliable source - thank you

(*) You wrote on my user page: " Hello, I'm TheManInTheBlackHat. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Igor Kufayev, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. TheManInTheBlackHat (Talk) 20:39, 20 December 2022 (UTC) " Geertacke (talk) 20:49, 20 December 2022 (UTC)

@Geertacke you made significant changes to a paragraph talking about his early life, and didn't include a source. Please find a source that you got these facts from. TheManInTheBlackHat (Talk) 20:50, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
@Geertacke This was the exact revision: [1] TheManInTheBlackHat (Talk) 20:51, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
@TheManInTheBlackHat are you saying that no-where on Wikipedia, any statement can be made about - for example - an internal experience? (since internal experiences can't be substantiated through an external source); or is it sufficient to add a source where a person - in this case Igor Kufayev - is speaking about such internal experience? Geertacke (talk) 20:56, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
I'm sorry @Geertacke I'm not following what you're trying to say. You need to show a source (ie. website, tv show, video, news page, etc.) where the artist described having this experience you speak of. Also- is there any chance that you know this artist or are this artist? TheManInTheBlackHat (Talk) 20:58, 20 December 2022 (UTC)
a very good day to you, @TheManInTheBlackHat,
as I said, I am transparently using my real name, so how can I be this artist then?
It is I, who has no clue whom he is speaking to here, and I assume that you do not even wear a black hat when in front of a keyboard.
If you happen to be in Brussels, Mechelen or Antwerp, I’m up for a coffee, it’ll be my treat, I’m a real person, and I like to deal with real persons. And yes, I’ve been in several workshops of Igor Kufayev and that’s what allows me to write here from personal experience, after all this page is about a living person, and an accuracy of information can only be provided by those who have direct knowledge of the subject, while observing Wikipedia’s guidelines for authenticity of information.
I trust that you are not zealously scrutinising any addition to this page because of the topic of the page? I mean, if we take another ramdom Wikipedia page, say about the flower 'rose' and in particular the section Art and Symbolisme of the Rose - would you also write objections to the fact that the statement "The Luxembourg-born Belgian artist and botanist Pierre-Joseph Redouté is known for his detailed watercolours of flowers, particularly roses." lacks an external source backing up that statement? Do you have a problem with that?
What is truly motivating you to casually click 'undo' on additions to this particular page, added by someone with integrity of intention? As I said, I'm happy to speak about this in a genuine conversation. Geertacke (talk) 19:36, 21 December 2022 (UTC)

Your reversion of my edit to the Tevit article

Hi, I'm Ormewood. I just did an edit to the Tevit article which you reverted. It was under my IP rather than "Ormewood" because I hadn't realized that I wasn't signed in when I did the edit. I've been editing Wikipedia since 2007.

The title of the section in question is "Tevet in Jewish history and tradition." Every other entry in the list is a specific name and date, including the year, because the list shows specific events that happened in the past in Jewish history. "The end of winter" isn't a historic event; it happens every year. It's kind of like if you had a list of important events of World War II that looked like this:

  • 22 JUNE 1941

Hitler attacks Russia – Operation Barbarossa

  • 7 DEC 1941

Pearl Harbor

  • 8 DEC 1941

Britain and US declare war on Japan

  • 2 FEB (every year)

Groundhog Day

  • 18 APR 1942

Doolittle Raiders Bomb Japan

Groudhog Day doesn't belong there, because it's not a listing for a specific day and year, and because it doesn't have much to do with the purpose of the list.

I won't alter the page, because I don't engage in edit wars. If you understand my intent with this edit, though, I'd appreciate it if you'd reverse your reversion. Ormewood (talk) 00:11, 22 December 2022 (UTC)

If I remember correctly, I reverted the edit because of the extra markup at the top of the page, I believe there was text that just said ''Italic'' or something along the lines of that in the edit, and I reverted it and left a message that warned of test edits. Could you link the article so I could have a further look? That was the reason I reverted it, I didn't see a problem with any content added after that. I also want to point out this is by far one of the more cordial and respectful messages I've gotten about a revert, so thank you. TheManInTheBlackHat (Talk) 00:15, 22 December 2022 (UTC)
Hmm. I probably screwed up the formatting, hence the "Italic." Sorry didn't see that.
The article is here: Tevet Ormewood (talk) 00:24, 22 December 2022 (UTC)
I've removed the extra date, thanks for leaving a comment. TheManInTheBlackHat (Talk) 00:25, 22 December 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for doing that. Ormewood (talk) 00:28, 22 December 2022 (UTC)
I'm not seeing the "text that just said 'italic'" or anything similar. I just hit the "undo" button and reverted the previous edit by 198.108.59.195. Ormewood (talk) 00:27, 22 December 2022 (UTC)
Check the original text on the right [2], the extra text is at the top. TheManInTheBlackHat (Talk) 00:29, 22 December 2022 (UTC)

The source appears to be a newspaper. Unfortunately, there isn't a digitized version from that time, but the newspaper exists, so the source should stay in the article. TheManInTheBlackHat (Talk) 02:04, 23 December 2022 (UTC)

That's what triggered the abuse filter, I didn't look at previous edits, so it just looked like you removed the Yale source only. Sorry for the confusion. TheManInTheBlackHat (Talk) 18:54, 23 December 2022 (UTC)
However, on the talkpage, the IP has not provided any explanation of how this meets MEDRS or why MEDRS should not be the relevant guideline. That's a standard that is substantially more stringent than how most of us are used to handling RS concerns for other topics. DMacks (talk) 19:00, 23 December 2022 (UTC)
In that case, remove the content if it fails MEDRS. I was only looking for vandalism and wasn't reading through the specific changes added. TheManInTheBlackHat (Talk) 19:07, 23 December 2022 (UTC)
No harm/no foul in what you did or how you fixed it...the filter-tool is definitely not perfect. DMacks (talk) 19:43, 23 December 2022 (UTC)
