BCCI Good article nomination

There is not a chance that Board of Control for Cricket in India meets the criteria for good articles- there are 4 sections that have maintenance tags (either for needing more content, or need updating), which would be an automatic fail at a GA nomination. And that's before looking at all the inline tags like citation needed. Before nominating articles for GA, can you at least check that it meets all the criteria for a GA? This article is nowhere near good enough to be a GA. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:33, 19 October 2022 (UTC)

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Cirkus (film), it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 13:08, 6 January 2023 (UTC)

Board of Control for Cricket in India

Hi, sir, this article need cleanup, ce and do check its grammar. But keep it as we British and Indian English readers can read easily. Rock Stone Gold Castle (talk) 06:03, 8 February 2023 (UTC)

Hi, Rock Stone Gold Castle, please note GOCE is not Cleanup, that's a different WikiProject. Although there's some overlap, please don't conflate the two processes. I'm not here to clean up messes made by incompetent editors. I'm aware of ENGVAR. Thanks, Baffle☿gab 03:50, 10 February 2023 (UTC)
I'm now done; I've removed one off-topic paragraph to the talk page and I've replied to your comments there. The article is still a long way from the GA standard and a copy-edit alone won't fix that. Cheers, Baffle☿gab 09:16, 10 February 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Kalaram mandir satyagraha

Hello, Rock Stone Gold Castle,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username BoyTheKingCanDance, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Kalaram mandir satyagraha, for deletion, because it is a very short article that doesn't provide readers with enough context to determine who or what the subject is.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|BoyTheKingCanDance}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Please be more careful

In your edit to The Big Bang Theory you claimed that an Indian actress was suing Netflix over having been insulted in an episode. I'm glad you provided a citation, because it clearly states that it's a political analyst suing Netflix, not the actress. DonIago (talk) 13:34, 28 March 2023 (UTC) @Doniago:, Hi, in the source article, the political analyst said, my client felt hurt got hurted due to the dialogue and title say Madhuri Dixit Vs Netflix/Big Bang theory. So it's clear that Madhuri sued Netflix.Rock Stone Gold Castle (talk) 15:14, 28 March 2023 (UTC)

Kumar doesn't actually say that he's representing Dixit, and Dixit herself apparently hasn't commented on the lawsuit at this time, so while we might infer that he represents her, it's not explicitly stated.
Though, on a personal note, I also don't know why he's suing Netflix, as they didn't make the show. DonIago (talk) 16:15, 28 March 2023 (UTC)

@Doniago: I think Netflix is streaming it in India that's why. He said his client hurted due to that dialogue and Title of it said "Madhuri Dixit Vs Netflix" so it indicate that Madhuri sued Netflix but anathor article [1] indicating Mithun Vijay Kumar, a political analyst sued Netflix India.Rock Stone Gold Castle (talk) 16:58, 28 March 2023 (UTC)

I'm not entirely sure I understood your comment, but regardless of the name of the case, which may or may not clearly indicate who the involved parties are, I'm still not seeing anything that indicates explicitly that Kumar is representing Dixit. You're welcome to discuss this at the article's Talk page if you'd like input from additional editors. DonIago (talk) 17:01, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
Your right he is not representing Madhuri, he sent notice himself to Netflix. Some source are saying he sent notice others are saying he sued.Rock Stone Gold Castle (talk) 17:22, 28 March 2023 (UTC)

Maharashtra

Hi Rock Stone Gold Castle, I'm Baffle gab1978, a coordinator with the Guild of Copy Editors. I've removed your copy-edit request for Maharashtra from our Requests page because the page has a limit of two requests per editor at any one time, and you already have two articles listed there. We enforce this limit to ensure all requests have a fair chance of being dealt with in a reasonable time. In this case, your most-recent request, for Bhimashankar Temple, has already been accepted. If you'd like Maharashtra to be copy-edited first, feel free to swap it with Indian Premier League; otherwise, you can re-add the removed request once one of your other requests has been processed. Thaks for your patience and understanding. Cheers, Baffle☿gab 05:58, 29 March 2023 (UTC)

I've reverted your most-recent addition here for the reason stated above; please wait for one of your requests to be completed before adding any more requests. I'm sorry I didn't explain clearly enough for you; we have a limit of two (2) c/e requests per editor at any one time. Thanks, Baffle☿gab 15:13, 29 March 2023 (UTC)

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Indian Premier League, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please make sure to double-check spelling and grammar before you publish a change to a Wikipedia article. Wracking 💬 16:27, 30 March 2023 (UTC)

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Indian Premier League, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. I recommend checking out the essay WP:TRUTH to learn about what kind of information we share on Wikipedia. Wracking 💬 16:42, 30 March 2023 (UTC)

Information icon Hello, I'm Joseph2302. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, 2023 Indian Premier League, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Don't re-add South African broadcaster without adding a source at the same time. There was no source on the table for it Joseph2302 (talk) 10:10, 31 March 2023 (UTC)

Instead of this artificial message, if you told me clearly what the improvement you want from me, it would be great. I think Wisden is a reliable source and it said Super Sport will air IPL 2023 in South Africa. Rock Stone Gold Castle (talk) 11:28, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
I'm pretty sure Joseph is referring to this edit of yours, in which you undid a prior deletion of content for which no source had been provided, though paradoxically your edit summary suggests that you believed you were removing unsourced content. Is it possible you didn't revert the edit you intended to revert? DonIago (talk) 13:18, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
Ok, I somewhere read that Super sports gonna air it. Its ok, if the info isn't correct you can undo it. Rock Stone Gold Castle (talk) 13:43, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
Nevermind that "truth", brother, if I see you spreading any misinformation, disinformation or ballyhooed promotional consideration in the world of sport superstars I know, I'll do more than undo, I'll do whatever a spider can, and that's the bottom line 'cause The Hulkster's Cena Nuff, webslinger! And no, I don't mean that exclamation point in an abusive or derogatory way. Spiders are cool, I'm just saying, keep your eyes on the prize and please thread carefully. Heyo

Hey,

What languages do you speak? I think you can learn the Wikipedia policies to help you edit this Wiki, just curious what you speak. (I can speak Hindi and English myself).

I think you could use someone giving you a short course on all Wikipedia policies. Your English is not great, but there's other parts of Wikipedia you can focus on.

Soni (talk) 12:31, 9 April 2023 (UTC)

I am ready to take help, You should tell the editor, who are discussing about me, that your helping me, we'll figure it out. But I'm feeling little disheartened due to that harsh words by other experienced editors at AN/I. I think, I need a long break from WP.Rock Stone Gold Castle (talk) 05:30, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
I have already commented on WP:ANI about my thoughts. Now the editors there can decide what they want finally.
The main question for me is "What sort of edits you want to do on Wikipedia" and "Do you even want to edit English Wikipedia". I don't know what other languages you speak, but say Hindi wikipedia or Marathi wikipedia might be simpler. Many of our other language Wikis need editors as well. Once you decide both of this, let me know.
If you plan to continue editing on English wikipedia, I can start with explaining the basics and things you should/shouldn't do here.
P.S. It's good to use {{ping|Soni}} just after commenting something you want me to see. That way, I get a ping. For example, @Rock Stone Gold Castle: would have given you a ping.
Soni (talk) 05:59, 10 April 2023 (UTC)

To be blunt

I'll repeat here what I wrote on AN/I:

You have already been assured that no one doubts your good faith, and we are quite tolerant here of editors at many levels of English competence, but it is simply the case that your English skills are not sufficient for you to be creating articles here. You demonstrate that in your articles, and you demonstrate that in every comment you post. It is not true that, as you write, your "language is not that bad": it is bad. Not to put too fine a point on it You cannot write English well enough to write for an English language encyclopedia. This is not a blog, or a personal website in which simply getting the gist of what you want to say across to the reader is sufficient. You must be able to write in English with encyclopedic quality, at least as well as a student in secondary school, and preferably better than that.

As several people have pointed out, there are Wikipedias in other languages, and probably one in your native tongue. Please take the advice that has been offered to you, and create articles for that encyclopedia, and keep your activities here to those things that don't require you to write in proper and coherent English. We're happy that you want to volunteer to help, but you're not helping here, you are hurting English Wikipedia. Your native language Wikipedia will almost certainly welcome you with open arms, so please transfer your desire to create articles there.

I am sorry to be so blunt, but you clearly are not catching on to what you're being told. If you don't stop creating articles, or even expanding existing articles, it is inevitable that the choice will be taken out of your hands, and some administrator will block you in some manner. It would be so much better for you to simply accept the advice that numerous long-time editors have given you, and leave of your own accord. Beyond My Ken (talk) 07:40, 10 April 2023 (UTC)

@Beyond My Ken:, Hi, yes you hurted me very badly. I know, I hurted some editors ego, that's why they tried me to push to the wall. I live in a free country, I am taking a break from WP due to you and other editor's harsh treatment with me at AN/I. If I edited, I'll make sure to edit with negligible or no mistakes. People like you need to understand, not everyone's 1st Lang is US or UK English, there are other versions of Eng exist in this world. Not everyone is privileged like you, we people from lower income countries not able to get quality edu, you should use civil language against less experienced editors. Bad behaviour from people like you creates bad perception about English speaking people in the world. Its clear that you have zero tolerance about new editors. I don't want make conversation with people like, please leave me alone. Rock Stone Gold Castle (talk) 09:01, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
No, you did not get "hurted", you got "hurt", and the fact that you don't know how to properly use that simple irregular verb is the nub of the problem here. And, yes, I am intolerant, but not of "new editors", I am intolerant of any editor who cannot express themselves in English without making a complete mess out of it.
To be clear, I do not care one tiny bit what country an editor comes from, what the color of their skin is, how much education they have, what class they are part of, how much money they or their parents have, what religion they practice, if any, or what their first or second or third language is. All I care about is that when they contribute material to this Wikipedia, they do so in clear, grammatical, well-written English sentences and paragraphs. If they cannot do that, then they cannot write here. This is not a charity, it is not a self-help program, it is not a place to bolster your self-respect, or to work on your English skills. It is a serious educational project to build a quality English-language encyclopedia. Those who cannot do that because they cannot write sufficiently well in English can certainly help here in other ways, but, simply said, if they cannot write English well enough, then they cannot write here. Beyond My Ken (talk) 09:34, 10 April 2023 (UTC)
  • I've looked at the entire discussion and tried to see it from every angle. I get that you are frustrated with Ken's responses to you, RSGC. But I can also see Ken's frustrations. I'm not going to pile on in either case. I don't know if English is your native language or not or if you just have an issue with proper encyclopedic English (something I can struggle with at times) but, if your native language is something other than English then I suggest you take what other editors are saying to heart and join that Wikipedia and add content there. You can still make contributions to English Wikipedia, just not content creation or editing of existing articles. I do not see where anyone questions your good faith. The fact that Ken and others have tried to discuss this with you for this length of time demonstrates the exact opposite. They are trying to steer you, a good faith contributor, on to a positive path and avoid having you indefinitely blocked from being able to contribute in any capacity. I do believe that frustration boiled over in some instances which caused you hurt. I'm sorry that you were hurt in the process but you should take that hurt and channel it into a positive direction which I believe is the intention of all of these editors taking their time to try and explain things to you. No one here is against you. That should be very evident despite your feelings. When you return, please, listen to the advice given. --ARoseWolf 18:32, 10 April 2023 (UTC)

Request reason:

Hi, admins, I already cleared that I was contributing in WP with good faith, I agree with the discussion at WP : AN/I that I should my own avoid doing big edits. A well experienced editors also said that, I'm a good faith editor. I am assuring you, I'll 100% not cause any harm to the wp, I will only do small edits to avoid grammar mistakes. By seeing my old record in which, I never did edit warring and spoke polity with everyone, you should give me a second chance. Everyone deserves a second chance. I am also learning and we learn with the experience. Even I decided to take a wiki break, I don't want to get block from namespace. I request you to unblock me from namespace. Rock Stone Gold Castle (talk) 06:13, 11 April 2023 (UTC)

Decline reason:

I must agree with the other editors who have spoken to you on this page. Your English skill is insufficient to participate here, and you should participate at the Wikipedia of your primary language. There is nothing special about the English Wikipedia, it is not the premier Wikipedia. Once you spend time editing the Wikipedia of your primary language and maybe spend that time improving your English skills, you may later be ready to participate here. This request, however, only confirms that you are not, and as such I am declining it. 331dot (talk) 10:02, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
