Hey, ease off and read the source[edit]

I have again reverted your changes to Queen and Imagine. In Queen's case you edited to say that Bohemian Rhapsody was voted the top single of all time in a poll conducted by the Guinness World Records British Hit Singles. The source given as a reference says in its lead paragraph Bohemian Rhapsody "has topped a poll to find the UK's favourite hit of all time". Note that, the UK's top hit, not the top hit of all time as you wrote. Please don't change it again.Moriori (talk)15:27, 4 June 2011

Moriori, it was a UK poll to name the best single (the UK's fave single, not the fave UK single) hence the top 30 features non British singles from the likes of Elvis, Jackson, Madonna. To give an example, best British single category at the Brit Awards are just that, British singles. I hadn't read the BBC citation myself so i initially assumed it was only British singles, so i got an Administrator to look at it. Who was the Admin you say you consulted?
I have difficulty getting through to you. The source says "Queen's rock opera single Bohemian Rhapsody has topped a poll to find the UK's favourite hit of all time" which I think most people would agree is patently clear.
Consequently, I have amended the article, to say BR was voted "the UK's favourite hit of all time"".
Note what the two bolded phrases say -- exactly the same thing. My change accurately quotes the reference -- verbatim -- and the link to the supporting reference immediately follows the quote. Do not again change it to something that does not accurately reflect the source.
Also, if you need to consult a second admin, try me. Moriori (talk) 02:41, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Don't get why you are getting worked up over this. I agree with the change btw. Stating British single was vague and could be misconstrued as being solely British singers. Cheers.Queen Zeppelin Metallica Floyd (talk) 11:56, 04 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I am far from worked up over this, but find it hard to AGF when someone tries to include inaccurate information into an article, claiming it had been checked by an administrator. Who was the administrator? Moriori (talk) 21:33, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Bud its done..i've given the Brit Award link (best British single) twice previously as to why British single was inaccurate, which you reinstated. BH was voted the top single of all time in the British charts (ie.the UK's favourite hit) not top British single. Now.. if the Brit Award committee ever include Eminem and Madonna in their category of Best British single, then reinstating such a coment will be valid. It's done only because I did it. Had I not intervened the article would still be inaccurate. One of the good things about Wiki is that edit histories are available to be checked later. It would be a good idea in future for you to not ignore advice you sought from an admin by inserting inaccurate information into an article. It might also be a good idea to not say in an edit summary you "reworded for accuracy per Admin" when no admin previewed what you inserted. I have left a note for Graeme Bartlett. Incidentally, you could check out a few of our articles to see that British and UK are synonymous. Moriori (talk) 01:31, 7 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reflinks[edit]

I wish Koavf would actually run Reflinks himself instead of just doing 'drive-by' tagging! But here is the information and the script. If I can't get to the Queen-related articles you asked me to run Reflinks on, maybe you can do them yourself. Radiopathy •talk• 03:32, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Christmas[edit]

Hello, I see you reinstated the POV template at the Christmas article because of your concerns about the opening sentence. I was just wondering if you'd like to read through the Christmas talk page discussion and join in? Maybe you have some suggestions that would work better? Disambiguation link notification[edit]

Hi. In You're in My Heart (The Final Acclaim), you recently added a link to the disambiguation page David Kent (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. For more information, see the FAQ or drop a line at the DPL WikiProject.
