100th Ad

PPG, I was thinking of something. I have noticed that we have 9 more ads to go until the 100th. Can you please reserve the 100th ad for Wikimania? I can make it. I am just waiting for the bids to end on the 6th of October. See this for more info. I can make the shell tomorrow, so that I won't forget. (hopefully ATL will win! - my U.S. bias is coming out) Cheers and see you around. M.(er) 08:28, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Sure, I'll be careful not to upload Image:Qxz-ad100.gif in order to reserve a space for the ad. Do you think leaving a note on WP:BANNER about leaving a space reserved for #100 would be appropriate? I'm not quite sure how else we can prevent the ad from being uploaded other than not doing it ourselves and asking others to wait.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 18:38, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
Well, it's kind of a surprise. I would like for us to get some showtime on signpost and have more people putting ads on their page in support of Wikipedia and the projects. If it exceeds 100, you can put 101, 102, etc. M.(er) 22:31, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Good faith

This edit prompts me to assure you that good faith cannot be extended indefinitely. It is actually disruptive to extend good face in the face of overpowering evidence to the contrary. If we had tolerated every troll here in Wikipedia, the project would have collapsed years ago. --Ghirla-трёп- 23:52, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

It's a pity that nobody bothered to reproach Digwuren for referring to me as a "troll without a specific gender"[1] and to Bishonen as "an associate member of Cartel USSR Forever!".[2] I am subjected to such abuse on a daily basis, but this does not entitle me to run to ANI and spawn frivolous threads requesting "a block, indefinite but to be lifted immediately upon display of remorse, to prevent further violations of WP:CIV", as Digwuren has been doing.[3] I made a mental note that, when Bishonen attempted to put an end to disruption of the noticeboard and the stream of insults in her usual resolute and effective manner, you found it reasonable to scold her for that and to demand more "good faith" extended to the editor who has been insulting me as "a troll without a specific gender" for several months now. You may be assured that I'm not impressed by your failure to identify trolling and to deal with it in any meaningful way. I don't know about your background, but I am here for writing the encyclopaedia rather than promoting "wikilove" to the most odious disruptors. --Ghirla-трёп- 06:22, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Bangladesh project advert

I have tried using it on Wikipedia:WikiProject Bangladesh, to advertise the advertisement itself (you're right, I work for an advertising agency). But, I have two problems - it is getting pixelated (may be it's my bandwidth, though), and the bottom border isn't showing. Can you tell me what's the happening? And, oh, what got you interested in making the banner? Just curious. Aditya(talkcontribs) 01:53, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

  • Hi, the proper way to display the advertisement is using the following code:

<imagemap>

Image:Qxz-ad90.gif|center|Wikipedia:WikiProject Bangladesh
default [[Wikipedia:WikiProject Bangladesh|Wikipedia:WikiProject Bangladesh]]
desc none

</imagemap>

As far as why I made the ad, it was requested here.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 16:36, 20 September 2007 (UTC)

I'm wondering if the protection on the article should be semi- instead of full, as all the vandalism seemed to be coming from anons. Videmus Omnia Talk 02:08, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

There's a certain perverse honor in being able to anger the true morons of the world the way you do. It reminds me of a swordbrother of mine who died recently. Please examine this sock puppet case. I think the report's conclusion of sock puppetry is correct, but I can't make a final decision. Since you blocked the primary account a week ago, you would be able to recognize whether the editing of the SSPs is consistent with this pattern. It would really help if you took the five minutes needed to close this case. Shalom (HelloPeace) 01:06, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Possible Copyvio from a German newspaper....

Hi,

a friend gave me this link here. I will try to contact the newspaper to ask them to reveal the source of their image and in case they took it from Wikimedia Commons, take more care to read the license text in order to display it. Can you confirm that it was you who took the image? -- 89.13.183.76 18:39, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Yes that image was taken by myself. The newspaper most likely used the image because I released it as a free image and it is entirely acceptable for them do so. A few of my pictures are featured on other online resources (such as my nervous system diagram on Purpose Games).¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 19:23, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

  • The article consisted of a copied paragraph from this web page. Though the article cited the page as its source, Wikipedia cannot accept copyright material when it is not permitted. Quoting excerpts is occasionally allowed but in this case the article was the entire excerpt and nothing else. However, you are entirely allowed to recreate the article. Just make sure to put it in original words and not copy & paste copyrighted material.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 23:31, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

'Brahmanical See' article

Hello, I am the user Nexxt 1, who has been banned from editing the article 'Brahmanical See'. The article uses a term which no scholar has ever used before and it is derogatory against the Brahmin peoples of India. Tell the other users on the article to stop adding material without that makes no reference WHATSOEVER of the term 'Brahmanical See'. Nexxt 1

Sivkov

I'm not sure what notoriety ( notability) and academic/scholastic research have to do with one another. Did you expect Picasso to be famous before he took up the brush? Sivkov lives and works in St. Petersburg, Russia: Where I was first introduced to his work and his ideas. To clarify I am the author of the images posted on Wikipedia. I am not Sivkov. As well, perhaps, if you are truly interested, you may want to search for him under a Russian search engine (in Russian). It is surprising that those responsible for maintaining the integrity of this sight seem egger to jump to unfounded conclusions.

I would like to point: Though, I am not the artist I am the owner of those to paintings. Under property right law I can release them in any fashion. To explain this: If, you own all of Wal-Mart you could use the logo in however you saw fit.

Respectfully,

DebrayR —Preceding unsigned comment added by DebrayR (talkcontribs) 23:10, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

I appreciate you comments. I in no way meant for my analogy to be offensive either to you or the site. In respect to the short comings of my contributions: I am working with a head librarian at the University of Florida to fix them. I am experienced in writing on an academic level and realize the importance of sighting one’s sources. Part of the challenge in this case is that my sources are in Russian and have to translated first. Truly, I appreciate the ethical parameters that Wikipedia works in. And, all this is written with all due respect.

Replaceable fair use Image:Dr._MehmetOz.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Dr._MehmetOz.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 12:06, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Thank You for your quick answer

Thank you for your quick answer. The Bălţi page was blocked form editing by User:Edokter for the next 6 hours, immediately after my last edit, knowing that I (User:Moldopodo) and User:Dc76 were both online at the same time, when Dc76 consecutively undone my revisions three times in a couple of minutes, without any justification for undoing previous edits, nor providing any justification (sources) for new Dc76's edits. On the Bălţi talk page you will see that Dc76 had already received edit recommendations form other users well before. Good night!

Moldopodo 22:50, 19 October 2007 (UTC)Moldopodo

Hi PPG. I was shocked to see Excalibur had been blocked after a vandalism "spree". Do you think his account may have been compromised (I do)? Hope you're doing well, Fvasconcellos (t·c) 23:08, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Right—I see you noted that in your block summary. Thanks for your replies, here and at AN/I. Fvasconcellos (t·c) 23:28, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I have noticed you have answered the item vandalism report page concerning me.

I would like to live for the recond that in my oppinion the controversial edits were done by Moldopodo. He started editting that article around 20th September. Tonight is the first night we met simultaneously. Some of his edits are very good, as they contain a lot of specific information (I suppose he coppies different data from some books; I have nothing against coppying technical data that way). But I believe others are not. Unfortunately, he also became very "shoked" and in my oppinion quite agressive. Especially, I stringly disagree that I have done any edits in a hidden way (he blames me of that).

I know that it is not in your "job description", but could you help us start a dialog? I have asked the same the occasional user User:Corvus cornix‎. (see his, Moldopodo, mine and the article talk pages for details) I suggested that a version of the article, prior to the start of the "conflict" (I really hope it won't be necessary to use this word), i.e from a month ago, be used in mean time. Obviously, I would understand if you do not have time. On the other hand, if you would help the dialog, I promiss to be very polite and to seek a compromise, even sometimes "stepping on my heart" (a Romanian expression for "accepting for practical reasons something one believes is not true").

For referince, this was the report:  :Dc76\talk 23:09, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Dc76 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log) controversial unverifiable politically motivated edits ont the English Wikipedia article Bălţi. When Dc76 was asked to provide sources or links, no answer was received. Last answer on the request to provide links, or at least to list, in Dc76's view, controversial edits was: "You are lazy to list them. I am lazy to list them. We can do half/half. :Dc76\talk 22:13, 19 October 2007 (UTC)" [1]. Dc76 keeps re-editing (undoing revisions) without any justification, stating rarely that X revision is done, whereas completely different, edits are done in the hidden way, so one needs to re-read the whole article.

oh, and I think that using the word vandalism was not a sign of good faith on Moldopodo's behalf. I have and will abstain from doing that until it is a clear one. I do not believe his edits are vandalism. I disagree with them? yes. The agressive way Moldopodo does them might be qualified by such word, imho, but for the sake of the content of the article, the agressiveness is not content related, and could be forgotten, if not repeated too often. again, sorry yo bother you, if you are not interested.:Dc76\talk 23:17, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
  • A quick look at the situation indicates that it was not appropriate for Moldopodo to label your edits as vandalism. I'm looking further into it. Give me a few minutes and I'll see if I can provide any advice to deal with the situation.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 23:19, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Ok, I've looked over the edits of the Bălţi and it seemed like a plain & simple edit war. Thankfully I cannot find extreme instances of POV pushing occurring by any of you. However, you both fringed WP:3rr several times during October and could have possibly violated it. At this point I recommend that you both step away from the article for awhile. Maybe even consider opening a mediation case at the MEDCABAL. It is a rather unofficial process but it provides a less stringent way to solve your dispute than the other steps in the dispute resolution process.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 23:33, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your time. You can take my word that I am not going to modify it again, at least for 48 hours. I think me and him fringed 3RR for the first time today. That goes for both of us: I don't see any 3 rr of him before today. I believe some issues would dissipate if we could simply list the problems. We can then go a mediation process if we can not solve the remaining ones. Personally, I am not a fun of institutionalized mediation. People who are interested can do it in the article's talk page. But I do not oppose it, absolutely. If it helps, no objection.:Dc76\talk 23:41, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
I have introduced the issues of contension, dividing them into the smallest pieces so as not to mix them. I have identified 27 issues. If you are interested, read a couple issues a day, check with the article, and with whatever else you want to check, and write your oppinion about every particular issue (for simple ones, 1 sentence should be enough, for complicated ones maybe, we can postpone and start separate discussions). In several days-one week we should be able to eliminate 15-20 issues, I hope. Again, if you are interested and have time. :Dc76\talk 14:43, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

Block of Excalibur

This user was reported by User:Tiptoety. Tiptoety issued both a final warning and a block request without any cause -- granted, Excalibur's edits were bad-faith, but he had only vandalized twice, for which he was warned, and didn't appear to try vandalizing again afterwards. I suspect Tiptoety may have wanted to expedite the process, so to speak, and make sure Excalibur got blocked, so he issued a final warning and requested a block basically without any cause whatsoever -- Excalibur didn't do anything to warrant those actions.

Here are Tiptoety's warnings, followed by your block:

  1. (cur) (last) 18:48, October 19, 2007 Tiptoety (Talk | contribs) (19,678 bytes) (Warning: Page blanking, removal of content or templates on Ernest Emerson. using TW) (undo)
  2. (cur) (last) 18:53, October 19, 2007 Tiptoety (Talk | contribs) (20,137 bytes) (Final warning: Page blanking, removal of content or templates. using TW) (undo)
  3. (cur) (last) 18:55, October 19, 2007 Persian Poet Gal (Talk | contribs) (21,591 bytes) (→Blocked - new section) (undo)

But Excalibur's contribs show this as his last edit:

  1. 18:47, October 19, 2007 (hist) (diff) Ernest Emerson

The first warning makes sense, but what did Excalibur do to deserve the "final warning" and block?

I admittedly was happy to see this user blocked but at the same time it would be nice if people didn't try to put one over on admins to expedite things as they see fit. Thanks for looking into this.

Equazcionargue/improves01:37, 10/20/2007

Thanks for the kindness,Equazcion but I'm not that worried to get a yellow card for the sake of vandalising Ernest Emersons page. It's palpable knife-wielding self-promoting rubbish, and lets the whole Wikipedia project down. I'm normally a fairly responsible editor, but as all the usual polite wiki-protocols dont appear to be working in this case anyway was simply making a point by bold editing the best way I know how. Cheers! Excalibur 23:37, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

In case you don't know about this: WP:POINT. And that still doesn't explain your vandalism of WP:SERVICE. Not that I'm looking for an explanation.

Dc76' controversial edits on Bălţi page

Persian Poet Gal, thank you for taking time with the Bălţi article. However, I am afraid it was in vain. Dc76 manifested herself/himself on your page in so many words, but none of them gave us the source or a link to his edits.

At this moment I do not see the use of any further arbitration procedure with Dc76, as Dc76 keeps obstaining from justifying her/his controversial edits. Tomorrow Dc76 will bring back her/his unverifiable edits without any justification as usual. During the arbitration procedure, Dc76 will most certainly write poems with thousand words, without any justification or possible verification, just as Dc76 wrote on your page. A proverb in Russian language explains it very well: "На воре шапка горит" (A guilty mind betrays itself/He that commits a fault thinks everyone speaks of it.)

Dc76 persistently tries to turn the encyclopedia article on Bălţi into a forum where Dc76 expresses its opinions, views and simply imagination, which is unacceptable, vandalizing in such way the contents of an encyclopedia article, presenting false and unrelated information.

It is a dialog with a deaf (referring to Dc76)...

Moldopodo 14:05, 20 October 2007 (UTC)Moldopodo

Wow! That kind of bad faith I haven't seen before. Moldopodo, I wrote you on your talk page that I am not going to modify it for 48 hours. What am I, some crazy, to brake my own word? In meantime, I took several hours of my time today to identify 27 issues, while you did nothing! After spending hours doing that, will you still call me a vandal, right? Very nice of you. Why one has to justify one's edits, and you don't. After all, you started them. It would have been civilized for you to do these 27. But ok, forget it. Could you please, discuss them. Or I am automatically guilty because I don't speak the same language as you (your proverb)?:Dc76\talk 14:50, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

continuous absence of decision

Persian Poet Gal,

Thank you very much for taking time with this affair. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that Dc76 keeps the same line, none of my questions were answered, no source or link provided. Instead, the Balti talk page gets bigger and bigger with irrelevant comments of Dc76.

Also, plese check the action of Edokter as he edited my user page, whose edit I contest. Here is the link where it is explained (on Edokter's talk page)[5].

Here is a copy of Dc76 last answer on Balti talk page, regarding all of my concerns wich were listed right after Dc76 listed her/his points:

The only answer that will be

I only have to add two things to this:
  • The Moldovan legislation (1989 language law) says black on white that there is only one official language of the country. Gagauz and Russian are official only locally in one small region of the country. The languaue is called Romanian in the Declaration of Independence of Moldova. The language law calls the existence of a Moldo-Romanian linguisitic identity/unity, and uses the term "official lanaguage" ("limba de stat") in the rest of the text. (Moldopodo, both laws have never been abolished!!!)
  • Ukarainian is not and never was official language in Moldova. Principality of Moldavia did not have an official language, everyone spoke one single language - Romanian. Texts were written in Old Slavonic till mid 1600s and in Romanian afterwords. There was noting in Ukrainian.
Appart from that, I do not intend to answer to agressive shameless blames, full of falsities.:Dc76\talk 15:40, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Disagree - Dc76 this is a wrong answer, the question was about valid, actual, effectively entered into force legislation, and not about history of previous short-term laws that are no longer apllied and are officially abolished, please. By the way, Dc76, you keep "forgetting" stating your sources and links. Moldopodo 19:11, 21 October 2007 (UTC)Moldopodo
  • Disagree - another lie by Dc76. Please state your sources and links. Moldopodo 19:11, 21 October 2007 (UTC)Moldopodo
  • Disagree - Dc76 this is a wrong answer, the question was about valid, actual, reality of linguistic situation in Bălţi, and in Moldova in general please. By the way, Dc76, you keep "forgetting" stating your sources and links. Moldopodo 19:11, 21 October 2007 (UTC)Moldopodo
  • Disagree - Dc76 is clearly showing bad faith here. I answered all of the questioned points, as analysed by Dc76. I am expecting Dc76 do the same for the points I have indicated above. Moldopodo 19:11, 21 October 2007 (UTC)Moldopodo
You (I mean both Persian Poet Gal and Moldopodo) might also want to check this: [6]. :) and [7]. :Dc76\talk 22:04, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Also, Moldopodo, do you read yourself (the link you just gave above, and there BOLDED): I repeat again, that Dc76 was not called nationalist personally, but his edits did express nationalism . Who judges what an edit "expresses", you, Moldopodo? This is such a vague interpretation, that reminds one of Andrey Vyshinsky. I sayd "good night", but i did it with such an nationalistic air, and in such a context... :) :Dc76\talk 22:14, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism

Poet Persian Girl,

Please take in consideration my official second notice of vandalism on the Bălţi site and on the Bălţi talk page by Dc76. I am referring namely to spam, sneaky vandalism, intentional misinformation and nonsense editing. Please, let me know what you think and what your actions are.

Also, Edokter, said he is not able to help me when I asked him to qualify Dc76 assaults, however he did qualify my text under NPA policy, upon or without (I don't know) Dc76 request. Edokter further did not explain how he decided that the phrase on my user talk page was in the field of application of NPA Wikipedia policies. I still contest it and would like to know what should be done further, please.

Thank you in advance. Moldopodo 08:22, 22 October 2007 (UTC)Moldopodo

  • The accusations of vandalism has to stop on both sides. This spurs bad faith and indicates that the two of you have been edit warring rather than collaborating.
Moldopodo: You received an NPA warning for this edit. In that edit you stated any false edits "made in the past by User:Dc76 will be deleted." This is considered an attack. It is not acceptable to reflect any editor in a bad light on one's user pages. So Edokter's warning was appropriate. I also suggest you amend the MEDCABAL request by removing further attacks on Dc76.
Dc76: Though I was about to stress that you approach the MEDCABAL, thankfully this has already been done on Talk:Bălţi. Please refrain from the "while you do nothing" kind of comment. This is somewhat of an attack on Moldopodo. It is really hard for one administrator to sift through this request so I'll leave it to MEDCABAL to examine it. But bear in mind that it will make easier for any reviewer to look it over without the use of attacks on one editor or the other.

If the MEDCABAL request does not amend some of the problems with the article, you both may try the next step which is an request for comment. ¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 16:52, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Hello Persian Poet Gal, could you please check who stands behind these users: User:212.182.118.70, User:196.46.109.216 (editing surprisingly only the disputed with Dc76 issues and vandalising one other page to create an impression that not only Balti/Moldova topic interests it), User:Moldorubo (created today probably in response to my name Moldopodo and to avoid 3-revert rule, as other anonymous users), User:Anittas, and User:Dc76.

Also, how do you qualify these statements to me by User:Moldorubo in the pure spirit of dialog in User:Dc76 style?

- What material? Your POV from your ass?--Moldorubotalk 18:40, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

- Who am I? I'm Moldorubo, don't you see? I know you, you speak dutch. That's a clue for me. --Moldorubo 18:23, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

  • Sorry for not getting to this earlier. The user was labeled as a blocked sockpuppet by another admin here and I administered the block afterward. They were indeed an obvious single purpose account/sockpuppet account, however it is wrong to assume it was the users you mentioned when there was no concrete evidence. If you spot accounts similar to this, feel free to report them to me.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 00:20, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

Dear Moldopodo, I would like to appologize for "while you do nothing" kind of comments from my side (as referred above by Persial Poet Gal). There were clearly inappropriate. If they strengthened my argument, everyone reading it/them, please ignore my whole argument for that particular issue: it will become my duty to provide arguments without such kind of remarks, or risk my arguments to be considered as absent on whatever issue I used such words.:Dc76\talk 19:55, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

The user Grace Likes Mudkips posted an unblock request on his/her talk page. • Usually troll memes are never allowed to edit per the WP:USERNAME policy. So I block on sight if I see them. However, you are quite correct that this doesn't necessarily mean the contributer will be a vandal. I still feel that it isn't a good idea to unblock the account.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 16:57, 30 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi, Persian Poet Gal; I'm wondering about the deletion log on this user page. The editor has recently made some edits opposing Featured article candidates that are of concern, and I need to know if this is a valid account. I'm not sure what the deletion log on the user page means. (I'm glad to hear none of your friends lost homes; what a fright this has been while we're still reeling from the five lost at Esperanza.) Thanks, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 06:28, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

  • I could not locate this userpage at first but after correcting a minor typo I found it at User:Separa. The userpage deletion was due to a hit and run by the notorious Genesis vandal (see this for details). So the vandal history that exists there was not done by him. Cheers, ¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 14:20, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
  • ack, sorry for the miscue, corrected my typo above. Thanks for checking. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 22:50, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Persian Immortals

Hello Persian Poet Gal. Back in September you created an excellent little picture for the Persian Immortals article. This was deleted a few days ago by an anonymous editor 83.233.154.50 with the comment "cute picture but no authenticity whatsoever". Since he or she gave no supporting evidence for this statement I reverted it with the suggestion that the question of what the Immortals actually looked like (admitedly a difficult one) be moved to the discussion page. Anon 83 simply deleted it again with an abrasive comment which cast no more light on the subject. Grateful if you could advise the source of your picture (the stairway carvings at Persepolis perhaps?) before I return to what might otherwise prove to be a futile edit war. Many thanks. Buistr 06:21, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the reference links. They convince me that the picture has sufficiently solid foundations to justify staying with the article and I have restored it a second time. Your comments regarding the 3RR are appreciated - I have no wish to get into an edit war over this or any other Wiki issue but it annoys me when editors (especially anonymous ones) use bluster instead of reasoning. Hello Persian Poet Gal, this user has deliberately replaced the names of shia religious leaders to what the shia's like their religious leaders to be called. Hello, dorood. I am user: Beh-nam. Just today believe it or not I have banned indefinately for 3 reverts on the Kunduz Province article. A brand new user (User:DreamOfJeannie) was claiming that "Dari script" is distinct from Persian script. To you and me it's obvious vandalism, to others it's not. I really don't think I should be banned for 3 rv's, I've never seen this happen. I've seen users get banned for a week or at the most month for edit waring, but I wasn't even edit waring as I discussed it on the user's talk page and it was vandalism in the first please. Since you understand these edits and since you are an admin can you please visit my talk page and comment on there? I would really appreciate that. Hi, since I saw that image uploaded on meta without licence but mentioned there that You were the author, I investigated and found that image here, now uploaded to commons with Your given licence, to allow use also in other projects, hope You don't mind, kind regards, --birdy (:> )=| 16:38, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

:I was the first one re-uploading the Data-stream on meta, it said on the page that it was fine uploading and there was no-need to ask, but i did mention it was this owner, and besides nothings been change i only use it for the current status on my account on meta. →Yun-Yuuzhan 17:07, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

...My guinea pigs and the "A"s through "O"s having felt this message was OK to go forward with (or at least not complained bitterly to me about it :) ), today it's the turn of the "P"s through "S"s! I'm hoping that more of you chaps/chapettes will point to their own criteria instead of mine :)... it's flattering but a bit scary! :) Also, you may want to check back to the table periodically, someone later than you in the alphabet may have come up with a nifty new idea. ++Lar: t/c 04:16, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

I want to start filling in the blanks from the list at http://iranpoliticsclub.net/history/historical-women/index.htm#Aspas , what can you suggest? Chris (クリス • フィッチ) (talk) 05:24, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

  • Can't really help you with the research on this one, sorry. Just got back after a long wikibreak, still not sure how active I'll be on Wikipedia or online on the moment. Seems like your list is coming along quite nicely though :).¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 20:07, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Current Status

To those watching my talk page I will inform you about my current status at the moment :). School is busy as ever and I have not had much to log on online in ages. My leisure time was mostly eaten up with about 2 hours of playing Guitar Hero 3 (that darn game is too addicting)...it seems I have alot to catch up on here on Wikipedia, so I'm going to lay down my game controller and get my lazy butt up to do some admin chores. Cannot really predict if this means I can be truly active again but I will try to come on and pull my weight a little oncemore. Nice to see you all again!¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 20:13, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

In reference to this, Unless there is some prior doings by this account, i think it is inappropriate to block the account without even a warning. They made two lame comments on user talk pages, which have been reverted. I think an indefinate block is completely out-of-order, this persons actions were not very serious, and anything more than 48hrs seems heavy-handed to me. Thanks. Twenty Years 12:08, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Very fair offer on their talk page. Many thanks for listening to my concerns. Cheers. Twenty Years 12:21, 2 March 2008 (UTC)

Barnstar

  • I am honoured to have received another barnstar, thank you. It helps me continue fighting vandalism, knowing it does not go un-noticed. That's not why I do it though, I do it because I want Wikipedia to be as free of vandalism as possible. One quick question, someone I reverted an edit from said they vandalised a page because they were angry, that someone else reverted their legit edit. What Wikipedia Policy page would you recommend I point them to? I thought of WP:TEA, but thats not it. Suggestions?
  • Cool's a good one ;). Sometimes we need to step back rather than having things go to "when push comes to shove." I think you are giving them the correct advice.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 06:26, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
  • Yes, agreed. There is no point pushing your POV when both parties won't compromise, they just need to cool off. And I noticed just now, that some vandal had the nerve to say "do you have a reference or even an argument for this positive statement?" in the awards section on my user page [10], and I only just noticed it. You really don't need a third party source to verify barnstars, that's just crazy. Userpage has been vandalised 7 times now :( Steve Crossin (talk) 06:39, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
