Rochester Castle pic[edit]

Love your pic of Rochester Castle! I've just uploaded it to Wikimedia Commons, the central library for the Wikimedia projects (different language WPs, Wiktionary, etc).

In fact, Commons is the best place for all your self-made images. You register and upload pics in exactly the same way as on Wikipedia, and use the same wiki mark-up to place pics in WP articles - the system just pulls them from Commons if it can't find them locally.

However, Commons can't take fair-use material: all Commons pics must be available for absolutely any use by anyone. So you should still put fair-use stuff directly on English-lang WP.

Please do not remove notices from your talk page and please by all means refrain from removing notices warning of copyright problems on images as you did on Image:Hms-belleisle.jpg [1].

This image has no author, and could easily be a contemporary drawing. The style of the drawing suggests a modern drawing, as I already explained. Hence, unless you can acertain the identity of the author of this drawing, claiming "Public Domain" is reckless and can cause legal problems.
