On the talk page of Self-reflection, you asked where "ζῶον λόγον ἔχον" exists outside of Heidegger's "Being and Time". It in appears [[1]] in Hermeneutics by Andrzej Wiercinski. He lists the source in a footnote, as Aristotle's Politics 1253a 9-10 (trans B. Jowett) from The Complete Works of Aristotle by Johnathan Barnes (1984) "Nature as we often say, makes nothing in vain, and man is the only animal with the gift of speech".
