Managing a conflict of interest[edit]
Hello, Mai El-Kinawi OTM. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Michel Shamil Orloff, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;

- Some of the text of the article was removed because it had no references to verify what was written. Please see WP:Biographies of living persons for more information on this, thanks. Wikishovel (talk) 15:44, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
- An entire section of the article was deleted - Early Life - which had numerous verifications and citations to public historical articles and to other wikipedia pages. it was noted as "irrelevant", whereas it isn't. This person is a descendant of the Egyptian Royal Family, and it is important that this is captured in his early life, for historical context. How can I make this happen? - Yes, a section was removed that talked only about his family, with references that didn't mention the subject of the article. That was partly a problem of WP:BLP, because there was no verification that any of the people mentioned were related to Orloff, and partly a problem of Wikipedia:OFFTOPIC: we need to stick to the subject of the article when we write. the subject of the article is the person himself - Michel Shamil Orloff; so including his lineage, parents and grandparents is important for the subject. Particularly because of the historical context. How is that categorized as off topic? and how can i write an article about him that captures his lineage? - You can certainly include a short section with WP:DUE weight about his early life and family, if you can cite reliable sources that mention Orloff himself, to verify the connection.

- most of the sources mention his mother but not him. that is why we want to document this so that the lineage sourcing continues. it's part of the reason behind creating this page - historical documentation. Mai El-Kinawi OTM (talk) 16:11, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
