Not quite sure what you meant?

by only include entries from the list of possible impact structures if they are E independently of their existence in these databases at Talk:List of possible impact structures on Earth? Perhaps you could clarify? — hike395 (talk) 12:45, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

I was thinking out loud, but basically, my fear is that if we add every possible impact crater listed in the databases, we'll have to come back every so often to weed out the rejected ones from the list. Similar to what happened to a number of these structures here. (One of which I just realise got merged completely uncritically into another article on accident?) I was hoping that if we used a threshold of appearing in two database, we would pre-weed-out the more dubious ones. I should check how many databases the Middle-Urals Ring Structure appears in. — hike395 (talk) 13:11, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
Let me know how it goes. I think your method should definitely work already. I think it's also that I feel somewhat uneasy about the idea of outsourcing our critical thinking to databases run by others, but then again, as long as we make sure those people are more qualified than us, I think it should work. :P
Either way, it's definitely a good minimum requirement. Licks-rocks (talk) 13:27, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
