Speedy deletion of Mongol Jews[edit]

A tag has been placed on Mongol Jews requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Non-dropframe (talk) 19:45, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Mongol Jews, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Little Red Riding Hoodtalk 20:14, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We already have an article on him, see Muawiyah I. Doug Weller (talk) 13:12, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've turned your page into a redirect. Doug Weller (talk) 13:14, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced material in Bedouin[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Bedouin, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Doug Weller (talk) 13:59, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked 31 hours[edit]

You have been temporarily blocked from editing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

The block was for this edit [1] in which you deleted text and impersonated an Administrator. Doug Weller (talk) 14:03, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Block should be removed because:
I contested the relevance of the user's section because it had nothing to do with the article.
However, I do accept the fact that what I did was wong and I apologize to the user and to wikipedia.

| I have learned my lesson[edit]

I have apologized to Wikipedia
I promise to never do anything OF THE SORT again. I also apologize to Dougweller for questioning his power as an administrator. I promise to behave better.
I admit that what I did was UNQUESTIONABLY wrong WITHOUT A DOUBT.
All I ask for is forgiveness from any user, since I consider this a wrong TO ALL WIKIPEDIA USERS.
HOWEVER, I do wish to testify. I did it because I wanted to become an admin.
Problem report: MBisanz

MBisanz has deleted my "mongol jews" page and called it incoherrent nonsense. MBisanz, mind your own business please, stop annoying me, and please leave me alone.

Hmm seems strange. We he deleted the page it didn't have any content on it at all. So i can't see how it's incoherent. Having said that My advice to you is create the article here on your talk page for now adding references as you go. Theresa Knott | The otter sank 14:56, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I did put lots of content into it. I worked extremely hard on that article! But MBisanz deleted it! And the sad part: I can't do anything about it for 31 hours because I'm blocked! Well, anyway, thanks for the comment.

That was for the second time it was deleted. The first time there was just a heading. As you have an unblock request on this page I strongly advise you to remain civil at all times. I understand that you are angry but there is no way you are going to get unblocked while you use terms like "rude, annoying, nosy" and so on. Theresa Knott | The otter sank 15:08, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your wise comment. I have changed my page and edited the words. I promise to behave better on Wikipedia.

Unblocked[edit]

Ok, I've unblocked you. I've also given you a welcome menu at the top, and it would be really great if you'd read through some of the stuff there. You might also want to look at WP:AGF and WP:CIVIL. Read through our policies and guidelines. It would be a very good idea if you created your articles on a user page first (WP:USERPAGE will tell you how to do this), and make sure they are well sourced (read WP:VERIFIABILITY and WP:RS) before creating them in our main article space. If you don't, they will probably be deleted, either speedily as happened to one article of yours, or through a discussion called AfD, Articles for Deletion. Your article Pasha (Quran) for instance has no sources and I can't find any. Basically try to source anything that won't be obvious to a fairly ignorant reader. It does take time to learn how Wikipedia works, I know I'm still learning. Doug Weller (talk) 15:32, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh My Goodness THANK YOU SO MUCH! THANKS TO ALL WIKIPEDIA USERS FOR GIVING ME A 2ND CHANCE!

You're very welcome. You might want to be adopted by an experienced editor. See WP:ADOPT. Doug Weller (talk) 15:36, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wait. I still can't edit or create pages. Why is this? It says I'm still blocked whenever I try to edit or create pages. What should I do? I need help. Can anyone help? ?

I think I've gotten rid of the autoblock, you should be able to edit now. --Golbez (talk) 15:47, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK it works now. Thanks!

Speedy deletion of Wikipedians/United States[edit]

A tag has been placed on Greek ethnic groups/subdivisions, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

it's just a list of links, created as a subpage of an article. Articles shouldn't have subpages. The article that this is a subpage of, is in fact a broken redirect to this page

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Atlan (talk) 21:06, 29 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of David Bouchier[edit]

I have nominated David Bouchier, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/David Bouchier. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. dougweller (talk) 06:27, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Typo redirect David Booshiyey[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on David Booshiyey, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because David Booshiyey is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting David Booshiyey, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 13:10, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Attack on another editor[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would like to remind you not to attack other editors, as you did on Talk:Comparison of disk encryption software. Please comment on the contributions and not the contributors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Socrates2008 (Talk) 06:43, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do not disrupt Wikipedia to make a point. Take your little vendetta with 12.76.129.120 elsewhere, and also bear in mind that (a) all that IP editor did to Comparison of disk encryption software was a few minor updates, and (b) because IP addresses can change, you may not have been addressing the same person anyway. Ros0709 (talk) 07:18, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Enough[edit]

Please, enough of this. The editor who called an article I created "a load of crap" will be reported, as I have warned him/her in compliance with repeated advice from administrators not to attack him/her back. He/she might be blocked for a short temporary period of time by the administrators, and will hopefully learn his/her lesson, or, if the administrators reject the case, we could just move on. Please, no more disruptive comments. Please, in other words, let it go. I am trying to be as nice as possible, and sorry, but I'm just a little annoyed with all this. ---GooglePedia12 01:44, 4 December 2008 (UTC)GooglePedia12

Proposed deletion of Peninsula Greeks[edit]

The article Peninsula Greeks has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

essentially OR: the division between mainland and insular Greeks is largely irrelevant, the two groups are part of the same culture, and the two populations are not distinct.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Constantine 12:09, 24 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are free to edit the content of Wikipedia:WikiProject Altaic Peoples during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion.
