Unjustified deletion of the article

Hi, Why did you delete the "Mehran Mansouri Far" article? I was in the process of completing and adding sources. Angelinlove78 (talk) 01:21, 1 June 2023 (UTC)

It was an advertisement. ... discospinster talk 01:22, 1 June 2023 (UTC)

This article was not an advertisement and was written based on reliable sources. Please wait until the article is completed. Thank you. Angelinlove78 (talk) 01:25, 1 June 2023 (UTC)

It had content such as "Mehran Mansouri Far is a digital marketing expert." and "Overall, Mehran Mansouri Far's focus is on improving the quality of online businesses and building trust in the Persian web. He values continuous learning and improvement, both for himself and for those he teaches. He enjoys attending in-person meetings and events and has a passion for sharing his knowledge and expertise with others." That is unambiguously promotional. You are welcome to write a draft article where you can work on it before it is published to the main space. ... discospinster talk 01:37, 1 June 2023 (UTC)

"Thank you for your guidance. The mentioned issues have been resolved." Angelinlove78 (talk) 05:40, 1 June 2023 (UTC)

Kenneth Atchity

I think it was unfair of you to do a wholesale revert of my edits to the Atchity page. Most of my edits, had you bothered to check, were trimming and removing unsourced claims, OR, and name dropping. 166.199.114.46 (talk) 22:02, 4 June 2023 (UTC)

You can redo your edits and leave out unsourced WP:BLP content such as the birthdate. ... discospinster talk 22:06, 4 June 2023 (UTC)

Reverts on Matt Walsh

Hey. Did you mean to undo your revert of the IP editor on Matt Walsh (political commentator)? I'm pretty sure edits that add text like LGBTQIA+ ideology, and transgender ideology are non-neutral and disruptive. Sideswipe9th (talk) 23:01, 4 June 2023 (UTC)

I wanted a second pair of eyes to look at it. ... discospinster talk 23:03, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
Aah. Nah you were right with the first revert, neither of those two terms the IP changed to are neutral, and transgender health care is also precise enough for the scope of what Walsh opposes. Sideswipe9th (talk) 23:18, 4 June 2023 (UTC)

Transport(ation) in Australia

Regarding [1], I added it because I needed it. I did a search for "Transportation in Australia" as I was interested in historical details and it redirected me to that page. I then spent a fair amount of time trying to track down what the actual page was for the historical practice of transportation. I figured I would help out the next person by adding a link. -- 129.59.122.107 (talk) 22:39, 6 June 2023 (UTC)

@129.59.122.107: I’d like to add that this is actually an interesting discussion, as yes, “transportation” can actually refer to penal transportation, e.g. “a convict was sentenced to transportation (to Australia) for stealing a loaf of bread”. I’ve added a link to this talk page section from the article concerned. Fork99 (talk) 06:17, 7 June 2023 (UTC)
It makes more sense to put it in the "See also" section rather than as a hatnote. ... discospinster talk 14:01, 7 June 2023 (UTC)
Why? The "See also" section is conventionally used for related pages, which may have additional details on the same general topic area for people who want to learn more. Hatnotes are what's typically used for alerting readers to navigation issues, for example they've been directed to this page by the search box or a redirect, but there's an alternative meaning to their search term or the title of the redirect, one which is covered at a completely separate page. The historical process of sentencing convicts to be shipped to Australia is completely and totally unrelated to the description of the current types of conveyance which can be found in Australia. It's a navigation issue, not a "learn more" situation. -- 129.59.122.107 (talk) 16:10, 7 June 2023 (UTC)
Just for the record, I’m neither for nor against this hatnote, but as a little side note, Transportation to Australia redirects to Convicts in Australia. Fork99 (talk) 22:58, 7 June 2023 (UTC)

My changes to Bristol Cathedral Choir School

I think a distinction should be made between Bristol Cathedral School and Bristol Cathedral Choir School.

Perhaps I should start a new page for the original foundation.

Cecil Rich, head when I was a Choral Scholar, should definitely be included https://bccs.bristol.sch.uk/about-us/vision-and-values-siams/at-the-school/history-of-bccs/

I really can't see your decision to delete Simon Hicks from the list of notable old Cathedralians. Have a look at his obituary in the Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/news/2007/apr/02/obituaries.mainsection.

Very few of your 'Notable Old Cathedralians' have any citation at all.

I won't bother to add my own name. 77.101.50.195 (talk) 13:06, 9 June 2023 (UTC)

Generally there should be an existing article for an entry in a notable alumni section. ... discospinster talk 15:42, 10 June 2023 (UTC)

Would you please restore the Grant Cardone page revision dated September 2017 to my userspace? I want to take a crack at rewriting this using reliable sources. If it's completely useless I'll just start from scratch. Thanks. Schierbecker (talk) 03:11, 10 June 2023 (UTC)

Unfortunately I am unable to restore all the history because it is too large. However, there is a fairly recent draft article at Draft:Grant Cardone, would that be sufficient? ... discospinster talk 15:49, 10 June 2023 (UTC)

Prior authorization

As a Family Physician practicing in rural PA for over 30 years I was alarmed at your article on prior authorizations (PA). I am preparing an article for publication and I was reviewing resources when I came upon your article. After a rather extensive search of the literature there is little evidence that supports PA other than a means of cost control for insurance companies. There is NO evidence that they improve quality or improve ANY patient centered outcomes. In fact, there is some evidence that insurance companies lose money on their PA schemes. There are studies that show increased hospitalizations, delays in care, and patient harm related to PA. Just let me know and I will send you the data. DRQfromPA (talk) 16:25, 14 June 2023 (UTC)

Hello, I'm not the person you should be sending the data to. If you want to add such content to the article you can do that. ... discospinster talk 16:27, 14 June 2023 (UTC)

Accidental? deletion

Hey Discospinster, I think you may have made a mistake in deleting Talk:Ontario Highway 41/GA1. It's a good article review, not an article in talk space (unless I'm wrong and the reviewer copied the article after the GA template). - Floydian τ ¢ 19:07, 14 June 2023 (UTC)

Awaiting your comments

I pinged you on User Talk:Doogemu querying the propriety of your block, but you have not replied. I await your comments. Sweet6970 (talk) 14:46, 15 June 2023 (UTC)

You have not answered the point that admins should avoid blocking where they are involved. I also query why you blocked a new user who had not been warned about edit warring. I also wonder why you did not respond sooner after I had pinged you. Sweet6970 (talk) 15:34, 15 June 2023 (UTC)

I do not believe that my involvement was such that it would preclude me from issuing a temporary block. ... discospinster talk 18:21, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
WP:INVOLVED includes: In general, editors should not act as administrators in disputes in which they have been involved. and In straightforward cases (e.g., blatant vandalism), the community has historically endorsed the obvious action of any administrator – even if involved – on the basis that any reasonable administrator would have probably come to the same conclusion. Although there are exceptions to the prohibition on involved editors taking administrative action, it is still the best practice, in cases where an administrator may be seen to be involved, to pass the matter to another administrator via the relevant noticeboards.
You were plainly involved in a content dispute with the editor that you blocked. So I don’t understand why you think it was OK for you to issue a block to that editor. Sweet6970 (talk) 18:31, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
@Sweet6970: As much as Doogemu was in the right with respect to "transgender male" versus "trans boy", they did breach the brightline WP:3RR rule, having made 4 reverts after their initial edit. Being right about the content is not one of the exemptions from that rule. As a first violation of the rule, a 24 hour block is standard, and even if Discospinster was involved (which I don't agree with), they would very likely be covered under In straightforward cases (e.g., blatant vandalism), the community has historically endorsed the obvious action of any administrator – even if involved – on the basis that any reasonable administrator would have probably come to the same conclusion. Pretty much every admin would I think agree that Doogemu was edit warring and had breached 3RR. Sideswipe9th (talk) 19:53, 15 June 2023 (UTC)
My view is that Discospinster should have firstly, warned the editor concerned about the prohibition on edit warring, since they are a new editor and it is not reasonable to assume that a new editor knows the rules about edit warring. Then, if the edit warring continued, Discospinster should have referred them to the edit warring noticeboard. There was no need for Discospinster to have issued the block themself. It is very important that there should be no suspicion of involvement/conflict of interest in any admin action – it is important that the rules and processes of any disciplinary procedures should be trusted and respected. Sweet6970 (talk) 20:05, 15 June 2023 (UTC)

I'm in the band, how would you like me to site my sources? Nibbzandbitz (talk) 15:35, 16 June 2023 (UTC)

It's likely I'm that previous editor as well, I created a login after those edits so I could attempt a picture change. Is there a good way for me to push those edits through?

You might want to avoid adding things like "Donatello sucking on a chili dog" if you want your edits to be taken as reasonable. ... discospinster talk 16:21, 16 June 2023 (UTC)

St. Ignatius Hospital

I edited in Garret Watts' video on St. Ignatius and while his channel is not known for ghost stories his stand alone video has nearly 5.5 million views and searching the hospital on YouTube shows his among the top videos searched. You removed my additions of factual information about DJ Kool Herc in interviews posted by the sourced history center. The source wasn’t a random YouTube clip. It was from the Schomberg Center, and uploaded by the Schomberg Center. Also the article isn’t about Hip Hop. Delection Proposal About Chuu Sitt Han Article

I am disagree with your decisions. I am trying to improve Wikipedia which are famous in our country. My facts in this article are fill with reference links. All of reference links are believeable sources which are strong recommendation of our country and you can see it blue checkmark as a real media. I am so disappointed to Eng Wikipedia, I don't write any article and I will left from Wikipedia if you decide to delete this article. I wanna say famous can't measure with "how many shot film or how many produced music". Are you check my added external link of Chuu Sitt Han? She is more than 1.1 million followers in Facebook. Death Deities

Hello mr. You do know that Hades isn't actually the god of death neither Persephone or Hermes. Just because they are underworld deities doesn't mean they are also instantly death deities and Hermes is a psychopomp not a death god. 2A02:1388:2085:617B:0:0:C62:1AE4 (talk) 12:36, 4 September 2023 (UTC)

Invitation to Cornell study on Wikipedia discussions

Hello discospinster,

I’m reaching out as part of a Cornell University academic study investigating the potential for user-facing tools to help improve discussion quality within Wikipedia discussion spaces (such as talk pages, noticeboards, etc.).

We wanted to invite you to join the study because we believe such user-facing tools could potentially be useful to you in your work as an administrator, where you occasionally have to interact with editors who are wondering why you reverted them (alternatively, it could be that these tools end up not being useful for this at all, in which case we would still want to know!).

The study centers around a prototype tool, ConvoWizard, which is designed to warn Wikipedia editors when a discussion they are replying to is getting tense and at risk of derailing into personal attacks or incivility. More information about ConvoWizard and the study can be found at our research project page on meta-wiki.

If this sounds like it might be interesting to you, you can use this link to sign up and install ConvoWizard. Of course, if you are not interested, feel free to ignore this message.

If you have any questions or thoughts about the study, our team is happy to discuss! You may direct such comments to me or to my collaborator, Cristian_at_CornellNLP.

Thank you for your consideration.

2.49.186.214 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)

Hi, a couple of days ago you blocked this editor. I presume it was for disruptive editing, since almost all their edits have been overlinking country names. The block has expired, and they have resumed making this same type of edits, quite prolifically (about 80 edits yesterday). I hope they can be re-blocked to stop this. Thanks! CodeTalker (talk) 17:01, 9 September 2023 (UTC)

I didn't originally block them for overlinking, it was for making broad changes to tournament articles without any source or explanation. ... discospinster talk 17:05, 9 September 2023 (UTC)
I see. I guess if the overlinking behavior doesn't warrant blocking I should just continue to revert on a case-by-case basis, although it's a rather time-consuming process. I'm somewhat inclined to just give up and let the overlinks stand, because the harm caused by the overlinks is rather minor compared to the amount of my time it requires to identify and fix them. CodeTalker (talk) 17:18, 9 September 2023 (UTC)
I'm actually not sure about overlinking or what the standards are surrounding it. ... discospinster talk 17:21, 9 September 2023 (UTC)
Well, the MOS entry MOS:OVERLINK says that country names should not be linked unless relevant to the context in the article. Obviously having an unnecessary blue link isn't a major issue that would totally prevent a reader from understanding the article, but as the MOS says, an excessive number of unnecessary links it makes it difficult to identify useful ones. I don't know how seriously overlink violations are viewed by the current admins. The user has never responded to any of the messages multiple users have left on their talk page, so I don't think there's much hope of communicating with them about it. Moving article to draft when it already has a draft

Hi, you moved The Artifice Girl to Draft: The Artifice Girl (2) apparently because there was already a Draft: The Artifice Girl. I wasn't entirely familiar with the drafts system and I assumed the "2" must have been created because the "1" was declined and for some reason could not be resubmitted. So I edited the "2" (putting in some NPOV sources and a more complete plot) and submitted, but then a reviewer said they wouldn't consider it because its subject matter duplicates that of the other draft which has already been resubmitted. So now I've merged the new material from "2" in to the other draft and blanked the "2": hopefully that was correct. This is all a bit confusing and I do wonder if Wikipedia has, or should create, a more robust policy of what to do when a mainspace article is found that should be a draft but there already exists a draft as well (i.e. someone has gone ahead and created the mainspace article without realising there is also a draft, which also raises the question of was it not obvious enough that a draft already existed) and how should editors know what to do when there's a "2" around. Any ideas? Thanks A1415 (talk) 10:30, 15 September 2023 (UTC)

I'm not sure of the protocol either, especially if draft 1 was written by a different editor. I don't think the new article could be deleted on the basis that there is already a draft, at least not speedy delete. If there is a redlinked page that has a draft by the same name, it would show that as a link. However I don't know if that's the case if someone starts a new article by some other process. ... discospinster talk 19:49, 15 September 2023 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Sabrina Chowdhury Tithi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Out of process deletion

Hi Discospinster. I’ve just come across Cardiophobia, which you deleted at the end of June with the reason neither word nor definition appears in target page.

I’m concerned that this deletion may have been out of process, as - as far as I can see - the redirect didn’t appear to meet any of the criteria for speedy deletion, and so should have been sent to Redirects for discussion rather than being summarily deleted outright.

I noticed that it may have been in response to the comment at Talk:List of phobias#Cardiophobia. However, I’m also concerned by your comment there that it used to be an article — which indicates that it may have been a {{R with history}} that should have been kept.

I’d appreciate it if the redirect could therefore be undeleted, so that any proposed deletion can be discussed at RfD.

All the best, user:A smart kittenmeow 16:40, 26 September 2023 (UTC)

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Sabrina Chowdhury Tithi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.quora.com/Who-is-Sabrina-Chowdhury-Tithi?top_ans=348528370. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Re: Bosch's Ascent of the Blessed

Heyo, can I ask why my changes were reverted? As I noted on the talk page, The sections removed were poorly sourced, poorly written, and added little to a layperson's understanding of the painting. A lied you made

You wrote "unexplained removal of sourced content" in https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Personal_life_of_Mustafa_Kemal_Atat%C3%BCrk&action=history, completely ignoring my explanation which kept being edit warred by PeeJay and then you. You are blatantly lying and abusing your mod powers. My explanation was this, which is completely fair and accurate: "Likely a psyop with no relevance to his wife, under whom it was categorized. Supporting such a claim in the "Personal life" section demands robust citations, beyond obscure and hard-to-obtain sources with no available e-books. This isn't a fanciful propaganda blog; every assertion should be substantiated" Holy Sepulchre (talk) 17:46, 13 October 2023 (UTC)

As shown in the link you provided, you did not in fact explain why you removed the content. It's not my responsibility to investigate whether you said something elsewhere. Furthermore, the sources provided don't have to be widely available, they only have to be reliable, and these books and articles are reliable. Besides which, they are not obscure nor hard to find unless you live in the middle of the desert. If you think it's a "psyop" that is your opinion, and is not backed up by any sources, reliable or otherwise. ... discospinster talk 17:52, 13 October 2023 (UTC)

How is it a reliable source? He's just reiterating what İrfan Orga was quoted as saying. This random Turkish guy who just so happened to move to London does not decide whether Ataturk was a homosexual/bi-sexual or not. This is nobody's decision to make and there is no proof for such. It should be re-written as a claim and it should be removed from his wife's section as it's just completely false and innapropriate. It is your responsibility to check my explanation and the sourcing. As stated in the source I gave, Ataturk was not a homosexual. Who is more trustworthy? A publisher on gay/bi, etc. topics or some random Turkish dude who claims to worked under Ataturk and just so happened to move to and settle in London. I said it's likely a psyop because it is. There are probably numerous claims in articles and journals that Donald J. Trump is a homosexual or has done something in the past that could be seen as such, but is it mentioned on his personal life's page? Don't think so. This is completely wrong and unjustified that history can be re-written against someone in the future just because some unreliable, untrustworhty person claimed it.

There are many sources in the section, not just one from a random Turkish dude. Are there multiple scholarly articles discussing Trump's homosexuality? If so then it would be relevant to his article as well. ... discospinster talk 18:02, 13 October 2023 (UTC)

So if someone says it, it is relevant to their article? If someone who cleaned Donald's toilets 10 years ago said "in fact, Donald Trump is gay". Then a scholar can take that quote, put it in their article and boom you've got a valid and reliable claim? This is how Wikipedia works? If so then this whole website is built on lies. You should at least let me write a counter point to that where I can include sources which affirm there is no evidence of him being homosexual or bi-sexual. But I think it's disgusting that people in the future after your death can tell potentially millions of other people that you were gay even if you weren't and many people may think it's true.

If you have reliable sources contradicting what is said then add them once your block is up. ... discospinster talk 18:14, 13 October 2023 (UTC)

UTRS appeal

Hi, Discospinster. There's an unblock request from Thewikipedian7534 on UTRS; to be specific, UTRS appeal #79429. I agree with your block, which you made in April, and also with the comment you later made, in June, at User talk:Thewikipedian7534: "I say no to unblocking. The user had made unconstructive edits before the whole Yahweh thing, hence I do not believe that "anger" was the only reason for their behaviour. And even if it was, the next time the user is upset will they vandalize again?" Nevertheless, I think there is a case for considering an unblock now. We are now a few days short of six months into the block, and the editor's latest unblock request, in my opinion, does much more than previous requests towards accepting that the behaviour which led to the block was unacceptable, and undertaking not to do likewise again. Of course, having been an administrator for 13 years I have seen it all before: "Yes I admit I was wrong, and I won't do it again" ... unblock ... and they do it again, but I think this one looks plausible enough that we should give them a chance, on the understanding, of course, that the slightest suggestion of the same kind of stuff will lead to the block being restored, with far less likelihood of it ever being lifted again. The editor says "I've matured (a little)", and a young person (which I am fairly confident this is) can indeed mature significantly in that time; I was in some ways very different at 15 than I had been at 14½. Any opinion? JBW (talk) 19:27, 15 October 2023 (UTC)

The article on her about the discrimination lawsuit is not correct instead of trying to block me from editing it why dont you look up the lawsuit and verify it for yourself. That is what you call good editing. Tmmusgrove (talk) 02:06, 21 October 2023 (UTC)

I am not going to look up the lawsuit myself, that's what secondary sources are for. In fact, content based on primary sources is disallowed on Wikipedia as original research. If you have a problem with how the lawsuit is addressed, then start a discussion on the article's talk page instead of removing the whole section. ... discospinster talk 02:09, 21 October 2023 (UTC)

Alexandra Lugaro

That is what i have been doing editing and replying to the editor about the case The issue is that its not correct information i edited the section with the correct information why did you have me blocked from doing so .? is that not what wikipedia is all about ? To write the correct information? to edit it? when there is proof that its incorrect ? Tmmusgrove (talk) 02:16, 21 October 2023 (UTC)

You removed cited content and replaced it with uncited content. Where are the sources that support what you are saying? ... discospinster talk 02:18, 21 October 2023 (UTC)

I understand

I will find the source and reply to you as soon as i get it available Thank you .The part im disputing is not the fact that she was sued it was the fact that it was her mother America Aponte who was named in the lawsuit as the one that discriminated and used racist remarks . Thank you for your time i will get back to you . Tmmusgrove (talk) 02:31, 21 October 2023 (UTC)

RC Patrol

(just a minor vent)

You know what we need at RC patrol? We need a completely separate stream for sports-related articles, so all of these:

"X is a part-time cashier at Burger King when he isn't pretending to be a quarterback"

"My team now OWNS the stadium of that other team"

"The referee had to retire because of effin' BLINDNESS..."

could be in one handy location. Joyous! Noise! 21:11, 24 October 2023 (UTC)

Not to mention the genealogical additions (son of [player who just won]). ... discospinster talk 21:12, 24 October 2023 (UTC)
Oh, I forgot that one. Yeah, that's a fave, too. Joyous! Noise! 21:17, 24 October 2023 (UTC)

Article Deletion

As you have given advise on article deletion for biographies in the past, I'd request if you can weigh in on the following article up for deletion: Bobby-Man Brant Panag. AmericanHistorian (talk) 03:16, 25 October 2023 (UTC)

sj Miller

It said "sj doesn't want to be referred to by any third-person singular personal pronouns, including "they" when used with a singular referent", so it is offensive to use they/them/their to refer to sj Miller. Beebeenewan (talk) 08:28, 29 October 2023 (UTC)

All you have to say is that the individual does not want to be referred to by the pronoun. There's no need to add descriptors that are not in the source. ... discospinster talk 11:55, 29 October 2023 (UTC)
If you use they/them/their to refer to sj Miller, sj Miller would still be extremely angry because it is rude and disrespectful to use the wrong pronouns when referring to people. Beebeenewan (talk) 09:54, 28 November 2023 (Brisbane time)

Null-pronominal means lacking the use of pronouns. Beebeenewan (talk) 23:47, 29 October 2023 (UTC)

The term "incorrect" and "wrong"

both "incorrect" and "wrong" mean the same thing. 2001:8003:E9EE:1301:9194:8F7E:E189:D948 (talk) 09:12, 31 October 2023 (UTC)

But the word "offensive" means something quite different. ... discospinster talk 15:50, 31 October 2023 (UTC)

sj Miller the academic

The part talking about sj Miller not using pronouns has been moved down to the personal life section of sj Miller. 2001:8003:E9EE:1301:9194:8F7E:E189:D948 (talk) 09:13, 31 October 2023 (UTC)

Senators GM

Howdy. Please look up TSN's website, if you're going to continue to revert that the Senators have changed GMs :) GoodDay (talk) 19:47, 1 November 2023 (UTC)

It is not my responsibility to find sources for something that someone else added. It is the responsibility of the editor adding/changing the content to include a source. ... discospinster talk 19:49, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
Would save you from getting your reverts undone by others, if you did look up those sources, though. GoodDay (talk) 19:54, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
Same goes for you I suppose. ... discospinster talk 19:55, 1 November 2023 (UTC)

April Mullen

Hi there -

April Mullen's page, which I spent 5 hours updating and you immediately deleted, is out of date. I desperately need help understanding. Why did you delete all my info? I cited sources for everything I put in.

Thank you,

Chala Hunterche (talk) 20:40, 1 November 2023 (UTC)

Because it was promotional and not written in an encyclopedic tone. ... discospinster talk 20:42, 1 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi there- thanks for this, so even though the "promotional tone" were quotes from actual sources I cited it still doesn't qualify? If I try again, with all the same links, but adjusting the language to be more factual, will that work? Just hoping for your advice, just bc so much info is missing on her currently. Thanks I appreciate you answering me.

If the quotes are just praising her, but not giving any actual information, then they are promotional even though it's cited. ... discospinster talk 20:58, 1 November 2023 (UTC)

Ok, got it. So no praise, just facts. I'm going to try again, I really do appreciate you helping me out. It's just so out of date, her page, currently. If I wanted to update the photo as well, what would you advise in that realm? Again super appreciate your expertise.

For the photo, if it is copyrighted (which it surely is), it would have to be licensed under the terms of Creative Commons to allow Wikipedia to use it. This means that the photo would be able to be used in other places by other people. See WP:IMAGEPOL for more information. ... discospinster talk 16:31, 2 November 2023 (UTC)

Huggle false positive

Just noting these edits on Nick Haynes were not vandalism. – Teratix 14:57, 8 November 2023 (UTC)

Leaving Warnings

Hello, I see that you're an admin using Huggle to revert vandalism. Please make sure that you're leaving a warning or a handwritten message when reverting edits. The action of leaving templated warnings is very helpful in stopping vandalism as people are usually only reported to AIV after being given multiple warnings. It is also especially important to leave a message when reverting good faith edits to let people know that they're doing wrong. Thank you. -- Cosmic6811 🍁 (T · C) 01:40, 9 November 2023 (UTC)

Request for permanent protection of Idol (Yoasobi song)

Good evening @Discospinster, is it possible to protect the mentioned article permanently? It was now the third time the article has been vandalized on in a short space of time. --Goroth (talk) 17:53, 18 November 2023 (UTC)

It's rare to have indefinite protection on an article. I'll keep an eye on it. ... discospinster talk 00:19, 19 November 2023 (UTC)

It's spelled KYIV

First of all, it is spelled Kyiv. If ANYBODY tells you otherwise, you are just supporting the russian propaganda. The correct way and EVERYBODY but the russians and their propagandist supports call it Kyiv. Please understand this and correct. thx KYIVnotKIEVstupid (talk) 00:45, 19 November 2023 (UTC)

It was called Kiev at the time. Also, you changed book titles, which is obviously not appropriate. ... discospinster talk 00:46, 19 November 2023 (UTC)

Hi discospinster– came across this article on a province in Argentina, Santiago del Estero Province, and it looks like you had a fun-sized edit war back in April on someone just removing large portions of the intro. I was about to tag the article for an NPOV issue (the lead has these weirdly extensive mentions about crime problems in two paragraphs and nothing else) and figured I'd come to you first before I did. Was it just this guy was removing a lot of stuff and not putting it in a section or something? Nomader (talk) 18:32, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
