Mr. Bongwarrior, why did you delete my article? I'm still writing the its contents. --Santosadriann (talk) 03:51, 23 June 2015 (UTC)

There wasn't anything there. You don't need to make a placeholder for it - when you're done writing, go ahead and post it then. --Bongwarrior (talk) 03:58, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
Okay. Drafting then posting is not allowed. Thank you!. Santosadriann

The latest wave of socks

Thanks for the quick blocks on these; the ghost-toast guy tends to vandalize pretty rapidly and that saves some rollbacks. Note that I'm also reporting these to SPI, at this point more in the interest of documenting the vandal's edit patterns and keeping a "paper" trail of sorts as to which accounts are his. Part of the case is currently on hold over there, as it looks like we're merging the case that's open right now with an earlier one, which editors didn't realize was connected to the latest string of these accounts right away. dalahäst (let's talk!) 05:50, 26 June 2015 (UTC)

Additional account for SPI you're doing

Hi, I noticed you were looking into some accounts for WP:SOCK at the moment. You might want to look at Toursabaft as related to Nosedrain55 et al as well. Very similar edits on newspaper and Web development. I can post an actual SPI if you prefer, but I figured you might just want to block this one too while you were still looking at it. Thanks!

Example diffs: [1], [2]

~ RobTalk 05:53, 26 June 2015 (UTC)

@BU Rob13: I'm pretty sure these are the same guy we've been seeing a lot of lately. I think this diff speaks for itself. dalahäst (let's talk!) 05:55, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
@Dalahäst: Yes, I'm sure it is. ~ RobTalk 05:56, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
Toursabaft is absolutely the same guy, must have slipped through the cracks. Thanks. --Bongwarrior (talk) 05:58, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
There's a small backlog of pretty obvious ones that haven't been blocked at the SPI page; I've been keeping track of them all until they do get blocked, as well as keeping an eye out for new ones. dalahäst (let's talk!) 06:32, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for looking out - I've blocked those ones plus a few more. --Bongwarrior (talk) 07:17, 26 June 2015 (UTC)

Bhano Langa and AfD

Bhano langa to me doesnt meet the notabily guidelines. I was gonna do the nom on Afd but i dont know how. PackersFan2015 (talk) 20:48, 4 July 2015 (UTC) PackersFan2015

Hi there. It's not exactly good, but it's extremely unlikely to be deleted, and I don't think an AfD would accomplish anything. Most populated places are automatically presumed to be notable; see WP:NGEO for the relevant guideline. Take care. --Bongwarrior (talk) 07:53, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

User:Ferociouslettuce

Would you be willing to have a look at User:Ferociouslettuce's recent edits? It looks like they are back to the same disruptive conspiracy theory pushing that got them blocked late last month. VQuakr (talk) 06:51, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

Hello sir. .I would similarly appreciate you looking at VQuakr as well as DisusesKid. As the talk page indicates, I found a consensus, and the users holding the original disagreement were resolved. Within the overall article, thee section occupies less than the reaction of batman executives to the shooting in colorado and it is all very well sourced. intro was reverted to previous default. not mentioning businessinsider, washingtonpost & msnbc sources is wiki not doing its job properly Ferociouslettuce (talk) 06:54, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
I looked at the talk page. The consensus never allowed you to make those kinds of edits. It only stated that they were warranted if they were still in the context of WP:FRINGE, reliably sourced, and extremely notable in the mainstream public. Sure, people still question the description of events that happened in the theater. But there is no investigation into the official account's legitimacy and it is highly agreed among the public that Holmes is the shooter and acted alone. DisuseKid (talk) 07:07, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
@Ferociouslettuce: Are we really still doing this? Consensus there seems to favor less conspiracy nuttiness, not more. You and I both know how this movie ends if you keep going on like you have, so pump the brakes already. Pretty please. --Bongwarrior (talk) 19:29, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
Both @Ianmacm: and I worked out our differences so that the intro remained unchanged. He and I both feel that the reverts of DisuseKid were being disruptive. Michaelmalak thanked me for my edits and added an additional passage. While I agree with the addition of Michaelmalak as a source more notable than Gawker, I think that @VQuakr: and I can agree to include the Conspiracy theory regarding the Multiple Shooters in the article, but relegate MKUltra info to something similar to Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting conspiracy theories. Including sources from washingtonpost, Business Insider, MSNBC as well as the original recording of the police response is helpful in contending with information presented by the NYT & Bloomberg and a lack of surveillance from Cinemark Theatres. Ferociouslettuce (talk) 22:57, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
Take the hints that numerous editors are trying to give you: this silliness has absolutely no basis in reality, and it has no place in the article. The several editors who have interacted with you on this topic have displayed admirable patience, and I hope I have as well, but enough is enough. Let it go. --Bongwarrior (talk) 00:51, 9 July 2015 (UTC)
The problem here is WP:WEIGHT and WP:RGW. As of 2015, it is pretty much impossible to find mainstream media sources covering the theory that multiple shooters were involved at Aurora. Both the prosecution and the defense at the trial have accepted that James Holmes was the sole shooter. The multiple shooters theory is unsuitable for the WP:LEAD, and the material removed in this edit was too long and detailed.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 05:34, 9 July 2015 (UTC)

History of American football

The featured article History of American football, an article you have edited significantly in the past, is currently at around 160 kb in length. The maximum allowable article size per WP:SIZE is 100 kb. While some bits of information could probably be pared down, most of the article is still surprisingly well written and referenced (despite growing in size by 2/3rds since being promoted to FA status several years ago). The article will need to be brought back to a smaller size, a discussion is underway at Talk:History of American football to decide the best way to handle that. We want to preserve all of the good information there, but the rules require us to split the article up somehow. If you are interested in helping decide how to do that, please come by the article talk page where the discussion is currently underway. Thanks! --Jayron32 12:21, 16 October 2015 (UTC)

Daniel Valdez

Hello,

I was about to create a biographical article titled "Daniel Valdez" when I read from a pink rectangle that there have been two previous articles that have been deleted, and they both shared the same title. As you can see on the pink rectangle, it also says "If you are creating a new page with different content, please continue. If you are recreating a page similar to the previously deleted page, or are unsure, please first contact the deleting administrator using the information provided below."

Therefore, I am writing this message to you because I am "unsure" if I was about to recreate the article you deleted on May 3, 2010. The article I was going to create is about a living person by the name of Daniel Valdez. He is the younger brother of playwright Luis Valdez. He has also acted in film; the movies he appeared in include Zoot Suit (film) and The China Syndrome. Was the article you deleted about the living person that I told you about? I wanted to check with you just in case, since you are the "deleting administrator" in this case.

Thank you. Hitcher vs. Candyman (talk) 21:35, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

Hey I was just wondering how I could fix my problems on the Valdosta High School page. I'm trying to update it because the info is outdated. Thanks :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Boomersooner99 (talkcontribs) 22:23, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

Hey Boomer. Referencing is very important. If you are writing about living people, it's a requirement. News sources are usually best, but for information about the school itself, the school website probably works fine also. Individual students don't need to be named unless they have achieved notability after high school - they may be notable to you or within the school, but we're writing a global encyclopedia, and the world really doesn't care. Similarly, try to avoid obvious silliness like "the Lorna-Name Controversy of 2015." Stuff like this will always be removed as soon as someone else notices it. And that's about it, have fun. --Bongwarrior (talk) 22:39, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

Thank you that was really helpful. I've been having trouble adding stuff but you're right, I could reference the school. I'll let you know if I keep having problems. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Boomersooner99 (talkcontribs) 23:24, 23 October 2015 (UTC)

If you're going to reference the school's website, please link the specific page where the information is located - don't just link the homepage and expect the reader to hunt for it. --Bongwarrior (talk) 00:04, 24 October 2015 (UTC)

Puppies getting stabbed in the eyes

Sorry. I went to tag Puppies getting stabbed in the eyes while it was still there, and by the time I added {{Db-blanked}} you had already deleted the page, and it wound up being re-created. Can you re-delete it? --Ira Goldstein (talk) 21:53, 8 January 2016 (UTC)

The version I deleted was empty, but there was content in the version before that (the one that was deleted after the AfD discussion). Protection level on Danielle Campbell

The article is still being hit with non-RS BLP additions. Would changing PP to PC be more useful? At least one confirmed user is bypassing the PP and is able to add the "supposed" additions.--☾Loriendrew☽ (ring-ring) 04:18, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

Yeah, that's my bad. I didn't notice that one of the users was autoconfirmed when I protected it. Semi and pending changes are both the same level, so that wouldn't really help. It would probably be best to wait and see if the one editor either stops or earns a block. --Bongwarrior (talk) 05:25, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

Descrimination

I'm reporting you for discrimination. I find your attitude towards start-up musicians and those that associate with them appalling. You cannot delete someone's page just because you may not be a personal fan of their music or of the genre they declare themselves a part of. I know my rights, and I know you are violating them. 108.29.24.212 (talk) 03:39, 26 January 2016 (UTC) Katie O'Bryn, protector of god-given human rights

I don't think you get what "rights" are, you don't have the right to have your band in an encyclopedia that is for sure. HighInBC 03:44, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
You might want to give the notability guidelines for musicians a read. Nobody's violating your rights, nobody is entitled to inclusion in a global encyclopedia. Acroterion (talk) 03:49, 26 January 2016 (UTC)

Pot Stew Drew

Hello can I ask why you deleted this page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pot_Stew_Drew ? I know it may have been rough but I was saving it to switch editors and to have it in case my computer crashed, I wasn't finished flushing it out.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Potstewfan (talkcontribs) 02:16, 26 January 2016 (UTC)

He isn't notable, and most/all of the article appears to have been made up. --Bongwarrior (talk) 02:24, 26 January 2016 (UTC)

He is actually notable. Hes famous in the New York City Jazz and Folk scene. He invented a new genre and if you ask anybody at any club on the Lower East side of Manhattan if they've heard of him they'll say yes. He just makes no effort to put himself on social media because he can draw fans with his music alone.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Potstewfan (talkcontribs) 02:35, 26 January 2016 (UTC)

I'll be sure to ask around the next time I'm in Manhattan. --Bongwarrior (talk) 02:47, 26 January 2016 (UTC)

With all due respect I think you're being unreasonable. The article I posted was meant to introduce people to a niche style of music. However, you seem close minded to the idea of the Manhattan village scene and you are being very snarky about it. Just because you are uneducated about this specific topic doesn't mean it isn't important in our society. In fact isn't that the purpose of this wonderful website? To enlighten people and help them learn thing they didn't know? I hope you can open your mind and learn to learn new things. There is a lot I can teach you about Pot Stew Drew believe me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Potstewfan (talkcontribs) 04:00, 26 January 2016‎

Actually the purpose of this wonderful website is to create an encyclopedia. It is not to document every thing out there, just that which can be demonstrated to be notable. HighInBC 04:09, 26 January 2016 (UTC)
Seriously now, enough is enough. Wikipedia is chock-full of various bands, people and things I don't care about. I don't go around deleting those articles as well because most of those things actually exist and can be proven to have made at least some impact, however minor, and they don't need to resort to creating articles consisting of lies and silliness in a misguided effort to promote themselves or their friends. We can't have an article on "Pot Stew Drew" for the same reason we can't have articles on Pink Leprechaun Fairies or Magic Levitating Cheeseburgers. I am sorry we can't agree on this, but your indignation is wasted on me. --Bongwarrior (talk) 04:19, 26 January 2016 (UTC)

Pot Stew Drew

Hello, I personally become a very big pot stew drew fan after I saw him performing in a jazz bar in the East Village. I was so pleased to see him finally gaining some traction with his Wikipedia page, which has now been unfortunately deleted. Frankly I find deleting his page a heinous action and unfair to all struggling musicians out there like him. Please correct this injustice and give him the ability to promote himself- a basic american right!! Looking forward to reestablishment of Pot Stew Drew page, 108.29.24.212 (talk) 03:07, 26 January 2016 (UTC)Katie O'Byrn

Thank you for your interest in Wikipedia, but that has zero chance of happening. --Bongwarrior (talk) 03:09, 26 January 2016 (UTC)

Hello Mr. Bongwarrior, You are being extremely inconsiderate here. You are ruining the chance of a struggling artist -- who happens to be very popular in the NYC Jazz Folk circle – to gain the popularity he deserves through the site Wikipedia, a site that is made FOR the people BY the people. Please reconsider and think about others involved, such as Pot Stu himself. And secondly, who are you to judge in the first place? To my knowledge, you are no expert in the Jazz Folk music industry. 108.29.24.212 (talk) 03:19, 26 January 2016 (UTC) Katie O'Byrn, Jazz Folk enthusiast

I'll have you know that I have two master's degrees in jazz folk music (one from Harvard and one from Cornell), I am distantly related to Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger and (via marriage) Dizzy Gillespie, and I have produced several albums by some of the world's most renowned jazz folk performers. So, not to brag or anything, but yeah. I'm don't know if I'd consider myself an "expert", but I'm definitely no jazz folk virgin. --Bongwarrior (talk) 04:38, 26 January 2016 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Reference desk/Miscellaneous

I've given the everspawning troll a break from editing Wikipedia:Reference desk/Miscellaneous. Sprotecting pages such as this isn't something I normally do, and right now I'm trying to concentrate on paid work rather read up on hazily remembered areas of WP policy. If you'd like to change the time (now 3 hours), unprotect or whatever, please feel free to do so: no need to get my OK. -- Hoary (talk) 06:16, 20 February 2016 (UTC)

You actually made it indefinite, not three hours. But that's perfectly okay - three hours won't be nearly long enough. Better to leave it indef for now, then we can unprotect whenever. --Bongwarrior (talk) 06:21, 20 February 2016 (UTC)

Can you please block him/her? Because he/she involved unsourced genre as did on Fearless (Taylor Swift album) and Speak Now (though I reverted them) 115.164.221.11 (talk) 23:49, 20 April 2016 (UTC)

Sorry, I'd like to help, but I'm really not interested. I don't really deal with genre warring, although I know it can be a big pain. --Bongwarrior (talk) 23:54, 20 April 2016 (UTC)

Hemp

Hello, could you as an administrator please have a look here and help out, thanks. HempFan (talk) 20:36, 15 May 2016 (UTC)

I can't look right now, but I'll check it out later. --Bongwarrior (talk) 22:05, 15 May 2016 (UTC)
It looks like this has been resolved and moved back to Hemp, which I agree with. --Bongwarrior (talk) 19:58, 17 May 2016 (UTC)

Article "List of fastest production cars by acceleration"

Hi,

I have recently been working on "List of fastest production cars by acceleration" and notice you had given it move-protection. I was wondering if the protection level could be reduced, at least temporarily. The page has grown in scope and has not seen major issues. I would really appreciate being able to move it with my account. If any problems occur it could be again protected.

Thanks,
Alex
Altanner1991 (talk) 05:29, 18 May 2016 (UTC)

Surely. That was a few years old, and I don't expect the issues that prompted me to protect it in the first place to be an issue going forward. --Bongwarrior (talk) 05:46, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
Thanks! Unfortunately I did not realize the talk page was protected by The Bushranger. I have left a message although it seems the user is less active... If you are able to change the protection level of the talk page as well that would be great. Thanks again Altanner1991 (talk) 01:39, 19 May 2016 (UTC)

Fresh off an unblock

Bongwarrior,

I noticed you recently blocked this I.P address for vandalism. Looks they didn't learn. About two weeks after they were unblocked they | added this BLP violating gem on the page of Marc Mezvinsky . I gave them a level 4 warning, considering they were fairly fresh off a block, perhaps they need a longer block ? KoshVorlon 16:17, 30 May 2016 (UTC)

There was a three week gap, so it's not like they came back right after the block expired. It was fairly recent, so there's no problem with a level 4, but I think we're fine to leave it at that. --Bongwarrior (talk) 21:04, 30 May 2016 (UTC)

Request to Protect the Page Mumtaz Qadri

Hi. The page Mumtaz Qadri was vandalised again. I reverted it but can you can protect it once more? Thanks.--113.203.188.243 (talk) 11:30, 26 May 2016 (UTC)

I'll keep an eye on it - I'd like to give the unprotection more of a chance to either work or not work before re-protecting. --Bongwarrior (talk) 03:18, 27 May 2016 (UTC)

OK. --113.203.221.222 (talk) 03:05, 28 May 2016 (UTC)

Yeah, as you thought, it wasn't really working. I've semiprotected it for another four months. --Bongwarrior (talk) 21:10, 30 May 2016 (UTC)

Suggested Vandalism

I received a message from you saying my edits to a certain page had been undone for being non-constructive, but I can promise that I have never visited that page, let alone made any edits to it. I think you may have the wrong person. 169.231.17.223 (talk) 20:32, 24 June 2016 (UTC)

I believe you - someone else probably had that IP address before you did. --Bongwarrior (talk) 03:33, 25 June 2016 (UTC)

plz put the page scallywag05 back up because it is informational and everyone is special and important, you cannot say someone is not special or significant because you are being mean. he is a youtuber and that makes him amazing so please fix wikipedia and put it back up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scallywag05yt (talkcontribs) 06:52, 28 July 2016 (UTC)

Not trying to be mean, and I'm not saying he isn't special, but not everyone who uploads videos to YouTube needs an article. Without reliable and independent information about the subject, there can be no article because there's nothing to say that can be verified. That applies to YouTubers, musicians, plants, companies, you name it. --Bongwarrior (talk) 08:04, 28 July 2016 (UTC)
it is 100% true go watch his channel. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.244.113.126 (talk) 00:35, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
you can verify it! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 45.113.92.198 (talk) 00:37, 29 July 2016 (UTC)
The main concern here is notability - there are lots of YouTube channels out there. About 99.999 percent of them don't have articles. --Bongwarrior (talk) 04:21, 29 July 2016 (UTC)

Semi-protect?

Hi, could you semi-protect America's Got Talent (season 11)? Thanks Hawkeye75 (talk) 07:32, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

can you help?

i have no idea how this works, i've opened up articles for deleiton before but this isnt getting any comments or attention at all and it's been up for two days Second Skin (talk) 21:17, 12 August 2016 (UTC)

Everything looks fine from here. My first thought was that you might have forgotten to add it to the daily AfD log, but you did that. AfD in general doesn't always get the turnout that it used to. If it doesn't get much attention before the seven days are up, it will probably be relisted for another week. It will still work, it just takes longer that way. --Bongwarrior (talk) 02:52, 13 August 2016 (UTC)
Oh, well thank you for having the patience to explain it. I've just seen the AfD debates had a whole lot more comments on other articles up for deletion and this one wasn't getting much attention from others for what didn't seem to be a reason obvious to me. Second Skin (talk) 01:17, 14 August 2016 (UTC)

Thank you! Cheers, 2601:188:1:AEA0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 03:27, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

Happy to help. --Bongwarrior (talk) 03:30, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
