Thanks for your beautiful addition to Portal:Norway! Cirt (talk) 14:17, 17 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

At some point it'd be nice to round this section of the portal out to at least 20 selections, so let me know if you come across any other sources for nice panoramas. Cirt (talk) 09:19, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have revised the article extensively since you voted in the AFD, and invite you to reconsider. --Dhartung | Talk 09:10, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Standardization

The infobox kommune does not give the standard requirements that the standard has. It is a major improvement. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 21:55, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to convert the infobox kommune into standard. I would like to keep the information the same though, thanks for your work, just change to a standrd templating where we are more free to add the locator, images etc. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 21:57, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

PLease don't be offended. I've done a great deal of work on cities all over the world and what this encyclopedia needs is standardization and a consistent formatting. If all of the previous information remains I believe it is a progression rather than an act of vandalism. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 22:00, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Part of the trouble before is that non Norweigans have no idea where in Norway these places are as they only use the municipal maps ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 22:01, 3 May 2008 (UTC).[reply]

I agree that the infobox for norwegian communes is not as good as it could be and you make several good points, but this was not an improvement. Please let us discuss this first before we go change everything. I suggest you take this up at WP:NORWAY where the infobox has been discussed several times. Rettetast (talk) 22:04, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I did not revert your edit as vandalism, and I understand some of your reasons for doing this - however, changing the infoboxes in the municipality articles is a major project that probably requires some discussion. Also, it would probably be wiser to add the information contained in Infobox Kommune to the generic infobox before replacing it, instead of adding it afterwards. --Aqwis (talkcontributions) 22:09, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

People outside Norway have no idea where these places are. Converting to a standard box isn't an improvement??? Even if info is copied exactly?? AN image and locator map of the country is 95% standard on wikipedia ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 22:09, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't realise it was so heavily guarded. But it really needs sorting out but please remember this isn't Norwegian wikipedia it is a world encyclopedia and there should be consistency in infobox use and formatting ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 22:11, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Template_talk:Infobox_Kommune#Implement_the_standard_Template:Infobox_Settlement. Rettetast (talk) 22:16, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

BUT WHY ON earth did you remove the images I had added to Drammen???? ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 09:09, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I apologise for removing them - I somehow didn't notice that you added the two pictures in the same edit as the infobox. I have re-added the images to the article. --Aqwis (talkcontributions) 09:29, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK but I am actually trying to improve many of these articles. I added an infobox and images to Langesund yesterday (which could do with some extra data). There wasn't one before and I believe it is an improvement. Part of the reason why I insist on using such a box is because I aim to add several hundred articles on towns and villages in Norway at a later date, ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 09:38, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

When I get around to adding some smaller Norwegian towns I may propose a category change by county. E.g Category:Cities, towns and villages in Telemark depending on how many articles we are dealing with. Probably the Cities in Norway would remain for the main cities but they would also be categorized by county as content increase by county. When it arises I'll be sure to propose it the WP:Norway first. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 09:49, 4 May 2008 (UTC) Now are there any objections to be adding infoboxes and images to places like Ådalsbruk and Atna??[reply]

As I wrote on Template talk:Infobox Kommune, municipality and unincorporated community articles should be differentiated between by adding a notice like you did in the Lillestrøm article ("— Unincorporated city —"). Also, I would appreciate if we continued this discussion on the template talk page instead of here. --Aqwis (talkcontributions) 10:23, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Two weeks have passed. Has anybody thought about making the changes? Rettetast won't reply ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 11:04, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WBOSITG's RfA

My recent RfA

Thank you for supporting my RfA, which unfortunately didn't succeed. The majority of the opposes stated that I needed more experience in the main namespace and Wikipedia namespace and talk space, so that is what I will do. I have made a list and I hope I will be able to get through it. I will go for another RfA in about three month's time and I hope you will be able to support me then as well. If you have any other comments for me or wish to be notified when I go for another RfA, please leave them on my talk page. If you wish to nominate me for my next RfA, please wait until it has been about three months. I will not be checking back to this page so if you would like to comment or reply please use my talk page. Thanks again for participating in my RfA! ·Add§hore· Talk/Cont 07:00, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bot approved: dabbing help needed

Hi there. Fritz bot has been approved at Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/FritzpollBot for filling in a possible 1.8 million articles on settlements across the world. Now dabbing needs to be done for links which aren't sorted as the bot will bypass any blue links. and I need as many people as possible to help me with Wikipedia:WikiProject Missing encyclopedic articles/Places to prepare for the bot. If you could tackle a page or two everything counts as it will be hard to do it alone. Thankyou ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 12:11, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:BTLogo.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:BTLogo.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:02, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
