Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, 912cat. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. Editing for the purpose of advertising or promotion is not permitted. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID). Thank you. ~ Winged BladesGodric 16:33, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem icon Your addition has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. ~ Winged BladesGodric 16:34, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without evidence of permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy, but have persisted, as you did at Chatham Area Transit. Please take this opportunity to ensure that you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Primefac (talk) 16:40, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Hello, I am the Communications Coordinator for Chatham Area Transit in Savannah, Georgia. The Marketing Department is trying to update the Chatham Area Transit page with our current information, which is consistent with our website, www.catchacat.org.

I have stated this before and this has become unbelievably frustrating attempting to correct incorrect information on CAT's Wikipedia Page.

All information being added to the Chatham Area Transit wikipedia page is information we are allowing. Please stop "editing" our content out, do to fear of copyright. If you have concerns about this please contact us in the manner which is easiest for you. Contact information for CAT can be found at http://www.catchacat.org/contact/. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 912cat (talkcontribs) 16:43, 2 February 2018 (UTC)(talk) 16:43, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You cannot add copyrighted content to Wikipedia, even if you own that copyright, without an explicit statement of compatible license. See WP:DCM for information on how to do this. Note that just because you release it, does not mean we have to use it, so you should consult with the appropriate individuals in your organization before doing so. Additionally, in order to be unblocked you must convince us that you are not going to continue to upload copyrighted text to Wikipedia, and that you understand why it is an issue. As this has been explained to you by several admins and you just keep posting the same response, I am not convinced of that, and am declining to unblock. TonyBallioni (talk) 16:57, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Please provide a link that demonstrates that your website is not copyrighted. Unless we see such a statement, we generally assume that a site is copyrighted, and thus we delete the offending text. Please see WP:DONATETEXT for more information. Primefac (talk) 16:46, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I understand. Is it possible for me to be allowed to edit only the few incorrect figures on the page? This is limited to the number of buses we currently have in our fleet and the names of the bus routes, nothing else.
Absolutely not.See WP:PAID and WP:COI.If unblocked, you would have to propose the changes on the article t/p and get them approved by non-conflicted neutral editors.~ Winged BladesGodric 17:00, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

We are very interested in making sure that the information on the Wikipedia article about Chatham area transit is correct. That's an important goal but it sits besides other important goals of this project. It is an important goal of this project not to abuse copyright. It might be that the copyright holders are willing to provide a license to allow the material to be used but no evidence has yet been presented to support that, so we err on the side of caution and keep material out which is almost certainly copyrighted, until such time as we can see evidence that it is properly licensed.

Another important goal of Wikipedia is neutrality. We want readers of Wikipedia have some comfort that, as much as possible, we are not permitting people with a conflict of interest to directly edit articles. There's a place in this universe for paid advertising, there's a place in this universe for advocacy articles, and for material created by people with conflicts of interest, but that place is not Wikipedia.

I'm sorry to hear you are frustrated, but you are frustrated because you are endeavoring, insistently, to violate the goals of Wikipedia. I fully recognize that with your connection to the organization you are in a position to have access to information which may be very helpful for improving the article. I urge you to find a way to work with us.S Philbrick(Talk) 18:37, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
