Lieutenant Victor Wentworth Thompson was a RFC/RAF WWI Ace pilot with RFC Squadron 43 and RAF Squadron 64 from 1916 to 1919. He was born September 12, 1896 in Aylmer, Quebec and died on May 4, 1978 in Grimsby, Ontario. He enlisted in the Motor Cycle Corps in 1915 and then with the Canadian Signalling Corps and soon after transferred to the Royal Flying Corps in England in 1916. He took his flight training at the School of Military Aeronautics at Christ Church, Oxford. He flew missions of trench strafing on the Western Front from 1917 to 1918 including the Cambrai push campaign and air battles in Ypres, Somme and Amiens in 1918. Lt. Victor W. Thompson was credited for bringing down 6 enemy aircraft.
