Many volunteers get stuck trying to find references to articles that pass notability guidelines or are unsure whether an article is worthy of inclusion on WP.

Music albums

Easiest sources to use

Many articles on albums were created in the days of Wikipedia when policies such as verifiability and reliable sources were in their infancy. Many obscure albums are just track listings and if you're lucky an album cover; many have been abandoned with only minor and bot edits since creation. The sources above are an indication of an albums' suitability for inclusion on WP. Allmusic's album review and artist database is extensive, for album's with a common name it might be easier to search for the artist first and find the required album under the discography tab. If Allmusic haven't reviewed the album then that is the first indication that maybe the album isn't suitable for having it's own page. To pass notability guidelines the album must have a least two reviews to declare it as having received significant coverage. If Allmusic haven't reviewed it then there is a good chance that no other publication has either. If when searching for the album a Popmatters review is not in the first few pages try using site:popmatters.com at the beginning of your search string.

The article may state unsourced chart positions and maybe certifications. To add references for these check the Goodcharts list for suitable sources.
