1944 Aug 7 - Tomasz Arciszewski became Prime Minister of the Polish government based
1946 - Penley camp started for war veterans and their families[1]
1948 Nov 2 - Polish War Memorial near RAF Northolt unveiled.
1949 Apr 25 - Jankel Adlera Polish painter and printmaker died near Aldbourne.
1960s[edit]
1965 Apr 29 - Mieczysław Lubelski the Polish sculptor best known for the Polish War Memorial near RAF Northolt dies. He is buried in Brookwood Cemetery, Brookwood, Surrey, England.
1970s[edit]
1973 Oct 17 – Tomaszewski stars as Poland knock England out of World Cup with 1-1 draw at Wembley[2]
1980s[edit]
1980 Jun 6- Zigmund Adamski mysteriously disappeared from his Tingley home. His body was found on top of a large stack of anthracite in Todmorden.
1982 Oct - John Paul II's visited to England (see Pastoral trips of Pope John Paul II).

1991 - Lech Wałęsa then Polish president visits UK.
2000s[edit]
2000 - Aleksander Kwasniewski then Polish president visits UK.
2000 May - The University of Stirling created the Centre of Research in Polish History. It is funded externally and is the only one of its kind on the UK[3].
2002 Mar - The closure of the hospital, marked the end of an era for the Polish community at Penley[4].
2004 Aug - Poles call for apology for failing to assist the Battle of Warsaw against Germans during the Second World War[5]
2006 Claims in one quarter alone 482,000 Poles arrived in the UK[6]
