Ingmar Lippert is a scholar of Science and Technology Studies and sociology, with current or past work affiliations with IT University of Copenhagen, National University of Singapore, Museum für Naturkunde (Berlin), Brandenburg University of Technology (Cottbus-Senftenberg) and Goethe University Frankfurt.

He is conducting research within science and technology studies as well as sociology and interacts with human geography and cultural anthropology. Empirically, he works on environmental management, environmental accounting, the digital society, data, numbers, datafication and organisation in practice. He is co-editor of the journal Science & Technology Studies.

He holds a PhD in Sociology from Universität Augsburg that scrutinised carbon accounting using actor-network theory, feminist technoscience studies, performativity of economics and critical management studies.
