Original location / place of creation[edit]

Would it be possible to have a field for the original location of an object? I ask about this because of Alexander Mosaic, which has a field specifying its current location as the Museum of Naples, but for which it is an important fact that it was originally located in the House of the Faun. Similar issues arise with a lot of sculpture. Even for paintings, which move around more, isn't it an important fact that the infobox should record that, for example, the Mona Lisa was painted in Florence? Painting Alignment[edit]

SWinxy The removal of the painting_alignment parameter has generated over 1100 entries with that as an unused parameter in Category:Pages using infobox artwork with unknown parameters (there are only two in the category for other things). Should the parameter be restored in the infobox, or should it be removed from all of these articles. (A relatively simple Autowikibrowser run).Naraht (talk) 13:20, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah OK. I requested an AWB task. SWinxy (talk) 15:22, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I thought I was offering to do the AWB work, but someone already volunteered. :)Naraht (talk) 16:02, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ah! I didn't know you had the perms. SWinxy (talk) 18:07, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Good Point. And the volunteer has already gotten about 1/3 of the way through. (up to H).Naraht (talk) 18:18, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Nice! SWinxy (talk) 19:57, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
All of the AWB work is done. There were two left. One, I fixed due to a missing letter in a parameter, the other is Composition X (Kandinsky) where pretty much *everything* including the parameters are in French.Naraht (talk) 13:56, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Huzzah! No more missing parameters! :) SWinxy (talk) 17:25, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Artist name hidden autolink[edit]

There were previous discussions (1, 2, 3, 4) that led to removing the link automatically added to the artist name parameter, but apparently it was replaced with a hidden autolink that has the same problems, e.g. linking to disambiguation pages or to the wrong person entirely. This came to my attention regarding Statue of Jackie Robinson (Wichita, Kansas) with its hidden link to the John Parsons disambiguation page where the non-notable artist isn't listed. Coincidentally, this also happens with Statue of Jackie Robinson (Jersey City) with its hidden link to Susan Wagner who isn't an artist. Can this autolinking be removed once and for all? -- Pemilligan (talk) 23:24, 7 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
