Bust of Abd al-Rahman III, Cadrete

  • ... that the Spanish town of Cadrete removed a bust of the ruler who built its castle, for causing "division and confrontation"? Source: Reference 1 in the article for him building the castle: "El califa mandó construir lo que hoy es el Castillo de Cadrete para controlar el asedio a la ciudad de Zaragoza" - "The caliph ordered the building of what is now the Castle of Cadrete to control the siege of the city of Zaragoza" [1]. Reference 3 in the article for "division and confrontation": "Según ha explicado el consistorio, la estatua "ha sido motivo de división y enfrentamiento entre los vecinos" - "As the city hall has explained, the statue "has been a motive for division and confrontation between neighbours"" [2].
  • Comment: Unfortunately I can't find a picture of the bust on Commons, probably due to it being in a tiny town and only up for three years

  • This article is new enough and long enough. The hook facts are cited inline, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. No QPQ needed for this third DYK nomination. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 13:06, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
