The official name now is Türkiye not Turkey. All English language Turkish newspapers use Türkiye not Turkey. A request to the UN for changing the name to Türkiye was filed. The UN agreed and implemented the name change in 2022. The United States Department of State officially began using Türkiye in January 2023. And it makes sense, it can create confusion in digital texts and linking, so definitely Türkiye should be used, and we should allow this change to happen on wikipedia to be consistent with English-language texts from Turkish sources. 31.10.147.97 (talk) 14:24, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
