Pie chart[edit]

Given the confusion over religious demography in Lebanon, I removed the pie chart on 7 May 2024 with the comment: "Removing the pie chart on three grounds (a) figures are probably not accurate, (b) the State Department report citing Statistics Lebanon with figures for Muslims, Christians, and Druze that add up to over 105% and (c) it is only an estimate of citizen religion and the country has a sizable refugee population that in some cases has been present for ~70 years". I again removed on the 22 May 2024 since the adder @Octopusclock gave a reference whose figures weren't those in the chart. Plus the issues listed above were not addressed. I'm not sure the supposed IFES document (supposed because it doesn't seem to exist on the ifes.org site though it probably is legit) is an improvement since it covers only registered voters and details the registered confession of the voter (registered confession which has to be one of the 18 recognized religions; this determines what law applies for divorce, marriage, inheritance, etc.). Registered voters also includes Lebanese citizens living abroad (at least as of 2009 according to another IFES docucment, https://www.ifes.org/sites/default/files/migrate/ifes_briefing_paper_on_vr_09.pdf). It also most certainly does not include the large number of refugees. A table comparing the various estimates might be worthwhile but a pie chart that prioritizes one is not.
