[Untitled][edit]

Is there any reason this page exists, apart from the main page on Malta?

I am new to Wikipedia so I understand if there is, but please enlighten me. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.68.55.99 (talkcontribs) 22:14, 27 May 2004‎

Yes, it is the island of Malta which is the largest in the nation Malta. The other main island is Gozo. Falphin 00:17, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC)

DO Not delete this page[edit]

It is useful for people to see that Malta as an island is not the same thing as the Republic of Malta. Doing this (esp. without discussion) constitutes vandalism. The Malta article refers back to Mlata as an island so redirecting is nonsense. --Drmaik 18:47, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Maltese wikilink isn't adequate as the topic of that article is the geography of Malta. Andres 18:57, 7 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I removed "The highest point of the archipelago, at 253 m, is Ta' Dbiegi on the island of Gozo. " as this article is about the island not the country. Paulchwd

Yes i'm maltese and i can confirm that its like United Kingdom and England. They are two different things. Republic of Malta is the collective term and Malta Island is one of the group of the islands. So don't delete ;) However that said we're going to have a problem here since Malta is very small. The history and stuff of the collective and the individual island are nearly identical. There only a few differences for example on the Malta Island Valletta is the capital, on the Gozo Island victoria is the capital however the de facto capital city of the republic of malta is Valletta.--Gian (talk) 10:53, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Largest Locality[edit]

This article states that the largest locality is Rabat. This is true only area wise. According to latest NSO data published in newspapers, the most populated locality is St. Paul's Bay. Dylan Borg (talk) 18:26, 21 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
