Several issues[edit]

I believe one may locate several violations of WP:OR, WP:NPOV, WP:RS and WP:EDITORIAL in this article. Some examples:

"The parade raised uproar in Armenia due to the Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev's remarks on the territories of Erivan Khanate, presently located in Armenia, being the historical territories of the Azerbaijanis, and Erdoğan's remarks on the spirit of Enver Pasha, who is considered by the Armenians as one of the masterminds of the Armenian Genocide, which Turkey denies.[9] Both statements were condemned by Armenian prime minister Nikol Pashinyan.[10] Iranian foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif also took issue with a poem recited by Erdoğan referring to the forcible separation of areas north of Aras from northern Iran, known as the Iranian Azerbaijan, which is home to millions of ethnic Azerbaijanis.[11]"

"Erdoğan, reciting an Azerbaijani poem about the division of Azerbaijan's territory between Russia and Iran, which the latter houses millions of ethnic Azerbaijanis,[11]"

These passages represent an almost exact copy of the pseudo-historic claims which the governments of Azerbaijan and Turkey have been supporting for numerous decades now in relation to Armenia and Iran. Some of the cited news sources don't even mention a word about the supposed claims. Others which do, clearly contradict the overal academic consensus and narrative. I'm not against presenting Azerbaijan and Turkey's point of view in light of overwhelming academic consensus/evidence, but it should be presented in a much more neutral way. LouisAragon, thank you for pinging, while I'm not knowledgeful about Iranian-Azerbaijani relation but I'm tweeking the Armenian related part you mentioned. - Kevo327 (talk) 07:09, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Just provide direct quotes from their speeches, and let the reader decide. The latest edit by Kevo327 is clearly a WP:OR. Grandmaster 09:05, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This is what Aliyev said: “Zangazur, Goycha [Sevan] and Iravan [Yerevan] districts are our historical lands. Our people have lived in these lands for centuries, but the Armenian leadership expelled 100,000 Azerbaijanis from their native lands at the time [late 1980s].” He clearly spoke about deportation of Azerbaijani people from the territory of modern-day Armenia. I made some more improvements to the wording of the header and also added a mention of Aliyev laying claims to these regions in the past. --Steverci (talk) 00:54, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And why do you think Emil Sanamyan is a good source? Claims like that should be not made on basis of partisan sources. Grandmaster 16:42, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
When Aliyev said that Yerevan or Zangezur were historical lands of Azerbaijani people, he did not say that Azerbaijan will take them back by force. He said that Azerbaijani people would return there. In Armenia, his statements are quoted selectively, apparently for political purposes, due to election campaign. He also said a number of times that his statements do not mean that he makes claims to the territory of Armenia, he talks about return of refugees. He also stated: I said we would go back there [Iravan]. But I did not say that we would return there on a tank. [1] So no need to selectively quote, especially with reference to Armenian sources, which tend to dramatize situation. A third party source is always better. Now you're the one making a personal interpretation and original research, as you accused Kevo327 of doing. Aliyev literally refers to them as "our land". --Steverci (talk) 22:42, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Our land does not mean that we will take it by force. Grandmaster 09:36, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Irrdentism[edit]

Which reliable source calls Aliyev's statement irredentism? Are there any? Grandmaster 10:01, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
