Variant spellings[edit]

There are inherently likely to be lots of Latin Alphabet transliterations of any Arabic name - the trouble with listing these is that the list is liable to become longer and longer, with little purpose. --Soundofmusicals (talk) 23:25, 22 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Aladdin is the Arabized version of the Iranian (Avestan) Daena. Meaning 'religion'.[edit]

Din was adopted into the Arabic language from the word Daena. Please do the right thing and include this in an Etymology section.
