Nguyễn Mạnh Cường (born 1965) is a Vietnamese former footballer who played as a midfielder.
Career[edit]
Mạnh Cường started his senior career with Vietnamese side The Cong-Viettel FC at the age of nineteen.[1]
In the 1990s, Mạnh Cường played "the main central defender of the Vietnamese football team. [...] Playing in the midfield position, Manh Cuong was always a safe stopper of the Vietnamese team in competitions at the SEA Games or Tiger Cup. However, [...] Manh Cuong has never once ascended to the highest throne of Southeast Asian football".[2]
