Koldo Case

The Koldo Case is an ongoing prosecution carried out by the Spanish Senate, that began on 28 February 2024 which involves several political figures, to a greater extent allies of President Pedro Sánchez which is due to the case of the masks, during the COVID-19 pandemic.[1]

Background[edit]

Spain was one of the countries seriously affected for the COVID-19 pandemic, which affected the economy and Spanish society.[2]

Investigation[edit]

The European Commission has begun investigations into whether European Union funds have been misused in Spain's Koldo corruption scandal, involving millions of euros in commissions for the purchase of face masks during the pandemic, and has sent relevant information to the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF).[3]
