Template TOClimit problem(s)[edit]
In Article sections and tables of contents#Technical solutions for long TOCs I found this.
Add the template {{TOClimit}}
Across namespaces[edit]
I tested it in several language spaces (sl, bs - it would be usefull for an article in bs) and it worked in neither.
- In sl it worked, when specified as , {{TOC limit}}
- when I tried here (en), {{TOC limit}} worked also.
I see confirmed TOClimit is a redirect to TOC limit template, which is usefull, but maybe not implemented in other language spaces.
Keeping reference to redirect TOClimit in this help article could also significantly increase confusion if (when) somebody translates the article for another namespace.
Proposed change[edit]
I propose this manual to be changed to
Add the template {{TOC limit}}
and intend to do so after waiting a week or two.
A notice might also be usefull?[edit]
Redirect stays wherever implemented (usefull to catch common misspellings), but maybe a notice about this possible difference problem across namespacs could be added - and should be useful - in the manual.
It took me (a newbie at WP) some time to find out what was (probably) happening.
bs namespace has some other problem[edit]
- Neither template worked in bs (where I needed it), yet.
Details about that part is to be related to people there. --Marjan Tomki SI (talk) 17:10, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
