Sakhawat Ali (سخاوت علی) is a Pakistani environmentalist and social entrepreneur known for his work in environmental sustainability and community empowerment.[1][2]

Education[edit]

Sakhawat did his baccalaureate degree in Environmental Science from Froman Christian College (A chartered University) later on got his diploma in Entrepreneurship and small businesses from Lahore University of Management Sciences.[3][4][5] He did his secondary schooling at Government College of Science Lahore, Pakistan with primary schooling at the Government High School, Rajowal in Okara District.

Entrepreneurial & Professional Career[edit]

Sakhawat founded TafreeGo (Formerly YourGuide), a social enterprise to empower local marginalized communities through sustainable travel experiences in Pakistan based on shared-economy concept by discourage mass-tourism and degrade of natural ecosystems.[2][6] He led Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) for Pakistan's first vertical forest project "Forest-V" and 101-Tower.[7][8]

Sakhawat worked closely with USAid, GSMA, Queen's Commonwealth Trust (QCT) and 100x Impact Accelerator at London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and Marshall Foundation to deliver women empowerment projects in Pakistan.[9][10]

Recognitions[edit]

He also won National Innovation Award from President of Pakistan Dr. Arif Alvi at National Ideas Bank (NIB) at Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology in Karachi.[3][11] Sakhawat was briefly featured in rector office's update by Dr. Jonathan Addleton.[3] He was nominated for Humanitarian Awards Global.[12]

He was selected in National Incubation Center and Plan9 at Arfa Software Technology Park by Punjab information technology Board (PITB) for his work at YourGuide and Vceela.[13][4] Sakhawat led the 1st climate action conference with Ministry of Planning,Development & Special Initiatives as a PJN fellow.[14][15]
