History[edit]
Pohnpei's football team first played in the 1998 Micronesian Games, where they lost all 6 of their matches and finished last. 12 Years after that last tournament, Pohnpei went on a tour to Guam playing four matches within a week. They lost 3 matches, but beat Crushers FC 7-1. They had a rematch against Guam, but lost 3-0. However, Pohnpei won the next two Micronesian Game editions, without losing a single match. In 2014, they beat Palau 3-1 in the final, and in 2018, they beat Yap 3-2 in the final.
