The Hood family were a family of British nobility with a long line of naval officers in the 18th and 19th centuries.
This included:
- Captain Alexander Hood (1758-1798)
- his father, Samuel Hood (1715-1805),
- his older brother, Captain Arthur Hood (1755-1775)
- his younger brother, Sir Samuel Hood, 1st Baronet (1762-1814)
- his 1st cousins once removed, Samuel Hood, 1st Viscount Hood (1724-1816) and Alexander Hood, 1st Viscount Bridport (1726-1814), and
- his grandson, Arthur Hood, 1st Baron Hood of Avalon (1824-1901)
