And is the first Japanese-language and second overall single album by South Korean boy band BoyNextDoor, set to be released on July 10, 2024, through Universal Music Japan. Led by an original Japanese song, the album comprises Japanese re-recordings of the group's past singles.
Background[edit]
BoyNextDoor debuted in 2023 with the release of the single album Who!, which was followed by the extended plays Why.. that same year, and How? in 2024 as part of a "first love trilogy".[1][2][3] The band achieved steady commercial success in Japan with the three releases, culminating with How? debuting at number one at the Oricon Albums Chart.[4] On May 6, 2024, KOZ Entertainment announced that BoyNextDoor will formally make their Japanese debut with the release of the single album And.[5]
Music and lyrics[edit]
And consists of four tracks. The album is centered on an unnamed original Japanese track.[6] The track is supported by Japanese re-recordings of "One and Only", "But Sometimes" and "Earth, Wind & Fire".[7]
Release and promotion[edit]
And will be released on July 10, 2024, as the group's Japanese debut.[5] The album's release will accompany a showcase held in Japan.[8] Pre-orders for album's physical versions began on May 8.[9]
Concept photos were released in the run-up to the album's release.[10] For the "syouyo" (逍遥, lit. 'go far') concept, the images depict the members aimlessly wandering the streets of Japan as they share personal stories.[11][12]
