The colorful mosaic floor that belonged to the main bedroom of this 1st to 2nd century villa at Kom el Dikka. The nine panels of colorful birds held symbolic meaning for the marital bed(room) of the owners of the villa. The birds depicted in these panels also gave the villa its name. by Iris Fernandez (2009)
