The Second ward, or Walnut street buikling, was erected in1880, at a cost of twenty-one thousand, four hundred dollars;Fifth avenue building in 1884, cost forty thousand, three hundreddollars; Ninth avenue in 1890, cost thirt\ thousand, two hundredand forty-eight dollars; South Park in 1890, cost thirt_\-onethousand, five hundred and sixty dollars; East End followed andit was enlarged, in 1893, at a cost of eighteen thousand, eighthundred and sixt^-eight dollars. At the present time a new sixteen-room build-ing is being erected in the Seventh \\ard to cost thirty-fivethousand dollars, to be called the Centennial School Build-ing. McKeesports public schools are second to none inthe state. The ta.x levy for 1893 was five mills for school,
