During the night between 1st and 2nd January Panamanian-flagged cargo ship MSC Zoe lost 281 containers in the Noordzee. A total of 25 containers washed up the Dutch islands of Vlieland, Terschelling, Ameland and Schiermonnikoog and the Wadden Sea area as a bigger area. Residents, tourist and officials are cleaning up the mess. 222 containers were located on the bottom of the Noordzee, 10 on different locations.
